@andrew84 There will always be complaints, you can't please everyone all the time.

Depending on the situation, search could be better to find opened tabs.

@leocg: Has Opera really removed the Recently Closed Tabs button?
I can't believe we're going back again. I don't understand that obsession to remove useful functions.

@avmon There isn't such button but the Tabs Menu one was removed, yes.

@leocg said in Opera 69.0.3638.0 developer update:

can't please everyone all the time.

It's more than possible in this particular case.
Just add switches on the new popup as I suggested above https://forums.opera.com/post/203796

Or restyle the TabMenu to look more modern but with the kept functionality and layout.
Both developers (because there will be another one new feature implemented that can be hyped) and users (because it will be the same feature, loved by most users, but even more improved) will be happy in this case. And the complaints will stop instantly.

@andrew84 You simply can't keep adding switches for everything, sometimes a decision needs to be maid. And always there will be someone that will not like it.

@leocg: Come on, admit it, it was a stupid decision. And andrew84 is right. We all want new features but KEEP those who work perfectly. Sometimes you just can't understand Opera devs.

As said before, it was removed. Last closed tabs can be found in Menu > History.

Yeah, only 10 closed tabs. You could see at least 25 before it was removed.

I'd like to see a button which can disable the duplicate tabs shover feature.

@ghirahim I don't think we can say if the decision was good or not good at the moment, it's something that only (long) time will tell.
Search in tabs still shows your opened tabs, so for those who want to see a list of tabs, it does the same. And for those who want to reopen recently close tabs, that isn't something that people do very often, there are other ways to do it.

For me, the button, nay of them, could be removed.

@ghirahim 10 is already a way to much in my opinion. Last closed tabs should show five or six at most.

@leocg: You can make smarter decisions though, this decision is quite devoid of any thinking what so ever.

There are many ways to search through tabs as well. Many more ways then reopening a closed tab or viewing what tabs you closed. Your argument doesn't hold.

@leocg actually you can keep adding switches. Notice the empty spaces on the sidebar? Even make it optional! My what a word. But Opera hates optional things and would much rather choose what you want for you.

@leocg this shows me that they are only able to add or get rid of feature never fully flesh them out. Such a disappointment.

I don't want the premade exception to return after every update especially when I have deleted them all before the update.

@artexjay And what would be those ways?

And why someone woild need to have a list of all close tabs or several of them? The last ones, as the name says, for a case of accidental closing, would be enough.

@artexjay I'm not talking about UI, I'm talking about code. More switches means more code that means more bugs, more cost to keep the code, bigger installer and so on.
