Found a workaround
Links are in the format~

or

or on mobile

Change 'r' or 'm5' to 'download/newspaper'
and it takes you directly to the download page 🙂

To share a web address, be it in Whatsapp or whatever, tap on your browser's address bar, then long tap over the address, select “copy” and then go and paste the address in your desired Whatsapp (or whatever) chat of choice. Pretty fast and no big deal, doesn't it? 🤷🏼
