Until then it is useless.

I completely agree with your two requests. I do not understand how they have not added them yet.
It is very annoying that the snapshots are saved to the desktop by default and I always have to change to another folder.

Okay, I answered my own question by typing a search in the URL... and it defaulted to DuckDuckGo, as I requested. So at least I can rest assured that when I type a search in the URL bar, it will use not use Google, which is my biggest concern. I hardly ever use a "search bar" to do a search anyway. It's the URL search that's important.

What nobody did mention:
When you add the page to bookmarks (This could even be via your favourite button adding to Speed dial page!), you have the option to select a tumbnail picture of your choice!
The available pictures are the ones that are available on the website. It even includes a miniature view of the website.

For a while there, old Opera (Presto-based) had a submenu on the page context menu with a variety of "Refresh every... " options along with "Disable auto refresh". Though my guess is the current developers will say it should probably be an extension rather than built-in.

@leocg I think it makes sense that everything that is used by the user and is convenient for him. As a user, I say that it would be convenient for me and would make work easier, often to turn on the full screen, I have to go back to the main page of the video, turn off the pop-up window, and then start the full screen. It is not comfortable.
I believe that this function will in no way spoil the functionality of the pop-up window and can be implemented for the sake of those users who really need it.
