I also experience some lag when typing in the address bar, I do not remember since when, but definitely befora v58.
I did not know about the better-address-bar flag, so I just disabled it, although I see no noticeable difference.

Debian testing x64, 4.19.37, nvidia-legacy 340.107. Opera wise, I have hardware acceleration disabled.

Of course Opera can copy a link. Mind you, the menu reads "Copy link address", but it is right there.

As far as a download link, let's try this. This page is an image of a cat I posted on Flickr some time ago. In the lower right corner of the black area will be a downward-pointing arrow; clicking the arrow will give a list of available sizes to download and also "View all sizes". Just not to get carried away, let's say we click the "Medium (640x360)" link (though it is my photo and you can pick any size). Whether you do that in IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera or whatever other browser, that link is only supposed to download the photo. If it actually opens in IE, then IE is doing it wrong.

So? If the required dependencies are met, you can install it on jessie and check if it works.
A (debian) release's eol (= end of life) is not when the new release comes out, but when the devs stop supporting it.

Are you using opera's dark theme and/or the snap version of opera?
In general, opera does not follow the system's gtk theming since v45 or so.

Here's a method that works in current Opera.

Install the Reader View extension.

Activate Reader View on the page you wish to save.

Toggle Images "Off" from the Reader View icon at the left of the page.

Saving as PDF may not capture the whole page, so save as HTML by clicking the Reader View icon at the left of the page.

Open the saved HTML in Opera, and then save as PDF.

Assuming that it is not a hardware failure, possibly the ram or the hdd, then opera's profile is probably corrupt. Backup your favorites, delete ~/.config/opera and start fresh.

No, the bookmarks were lost as I said because I did restart of the system.
I've just tried to chown the whole folder and files of config/opera and now it works like with sudo, meaning bookmarks, sites logins, whatsapp, etc. are lost, but basic settings, history, etc. are now back again in normal mode.
I am just not sure if by default all of files of this folder are owned by normal user or some of them are roots one so that there is not any privacy leaks or sth.

Good work. If you do not have chromium installed too, pin it so that apt won't upgrade it to the version from the repo

sudo apt-mark hold chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra

And npin it when opera stable reaches 62 like so

sudo apt-mark unhold chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra

In short, nothing at all.
The lack of borders around the opera's window is due to opera using its own csd and not the system's window manager, which (among other stuff like the min/max/close buttons) provides borders for the windows you have open.

Isn't opera a gtk app? Why it depends on gtk3 then?

I think that the issue the @andre-l8bolt is facing is another side effect of opera's csd.

I only use the --disk-cache-dir like so
opera --start-maximized --disk-cache-dir=/tmp/cache
and it does work

So please make sure the directory you use exists and you have writing access to it. I use the one mentioned above because I keep my /tmp in ram.

The parameter --user-data-dir does not work probably due to the lack of profiles on opera.
