Yikes! I just tried this on my Windows 10 VM, where I don't run Opera that often, but which I always keep up to date. I enabled the Quick Access panel feature and again, it didn't work at all. Did you guys introduce some bug or something that breaks it unless one already has it enabled?

In the end, it's just a convenience thing anyway. I still hope there's some sort of fix to make it work again, I've grown really accustomed to having this panel around. If not, I guess I'll work around it 🙂

On each installation, go to opera://about/ and check which path does it say under profiles. Are they all correct?

Since you are on gentoo, can't you just build chromium with libffmpeg and then move it on a location that opera expects to find it, instead of replacing the one opera provides?
Opera looks in these locations for that "better" libffmpeg

@pindos unfortunately, I don't want to downgrade
Opera based on Chromium 76 will be out soon, which will prevent sites from detecting incognito mode, and I'd like to upgrade to that ASAP

Unless what you're saying is not to downgrade for the long haul, but to test what I say is true, which THAT I could do.

At the very least, you've proven I COULD downgrade, so thanks 🙂
(I actually haven't made preparations cause I wasn't expecting it possible)

Feel free then to click the 3 dots, select "flag this post for moderation" and give the mods a good reason to remove it.
On the other hand, you could have put spaces between the words instead of blindly copy-pasting it from a 4 year old thread, for an equaly old version of opera and for a different os.

All I did was to mention that I do not see the issue you mention on my end.

Then it seems I am missing 2 things to verify if such a file plays as it should . One is the DAC and the other one is... a set of ears that can tell the difference.
And since I have none of the two, all I can do is verify that the file plays inside opera. And it does, like any other flac file would.
As for the downsampling, "unfortunately" opera is not a media player, so there is no way to check if it drops the sampling quality from 48k to 44.1k, so I also can not tell if it happens.

nvm, I guess this was just a fluke on a coincidental day I happened to be observing what happened when you stayed on the page while disconnecting.
after 2 days now I can verify it hasn't happened again.

I am interested to know what may have caused it to clear though >.>

See, that's where the difference lies:
I can do that as a user, no problem, because I edit my own profile.
Installed programs, or program folders, for this I need root rights.
Open the console, type Pw, then do the required action.

Hey, I have that page of chromium switches bookmarked too!
Vpn on the other hand, is an opera-specific function and, since it is not listed in the extra switches of opera --help, it probably does not have a switch.
