I also have a similar issue. I have been trying for an hour now and I can't download anything from Opera. The download feature takes a long time on the timer and then just stops. Sometimes it does nothing at all, sometimes I manage to get a fraction of the file. I have tried using IE, FF and Opera Next.

Incudentally, why has my Opera browser stayed on version 15, when we are now on at least version 18? Why haven't I seen a seen a single update in a year?

Please, since stable version has been release, could be just great that this icon is placed again. At least place a option so the users can choice neither activate or deactivate it.
Could ther be a "Clear All" option for Cookies while keeping needed ones?

@leushino, @blackbird71: Thanks for the stern warning. Your advice to tread very lightly with great caution and appreciating its great power just sent me chills. Im going to be re-examining everything I do with CCleaner again. I have been using the registry cleaner on it for years. Im going to stop now. I shouldnt let a program that isnt specially made to clean the registry to do things with it. Shivers.

"HTML5 custom protocol and content handlers aren't enabled in Opera 15+ yet," Are there plans to do this in an upcoming release? I'm on 19. If yes which release? The extension seems to work ok so I am not chomping at the bit to get it.

Yes, Show Images in the Preferences Editor is set correctly.

This has been an issue since the moment I upgraded Opera and I am the only person using this computer.

I have changed no settings and no one has been near this computer to touch it.

I am also very careful about what I allow on this computer. No porn, no spyware, no warez at all. Nothing remotely questionable because I just don't want the hassle of dealing with it. I check it regularly to see what processes run in the background. The problem is coming from Opera itself and it's very frustrating.

Thanks, Pesala, for your attention and advice, though. And I would be grateful to hear from anyone else on this issue because if I don't fix it I'll just have to walk away from Opera, which I've been using for many years now.
