The Opera "O Menu", top left is now black. Is that the new normal?
I'm used to seeing the O in red and would like to confirm that it is normal and nothing has gone wrong.
Thanks
Opera crashes EVERY time I use a website that works with FLASH! Internet Explorer seems OK.
I've been an Opera fan and user for many, many years and if 12.xx was still a viable product, I would still be using it.
After hanging on to 12.xx for as long as I possible could I jumped in to the version 20 pool. The biggest change actually had to come from within. I had to accept and get used to Opera and Opera Mail being separate entities. After a time it became as second nature as using version 12 only missing a few features but better overall compatibility with most websites. A plus over all.
But Opera Mail was a whole different bag of worms. While I could send and receive OK, if I was reading a RSS feed when shutting down Opera Mail, when I started it back up there would be dozens if not hundreds of blank spaces in that RSS feed where I left off.
Also If I went from the RSS feed section to create a new email, that email was limited compared to being in the email section and creating an email from there. I pretty much carefully got around that but if I forgot I got nailed with said issues.
So I searched around and found out that Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 all have a program called Windows Live Mail; I started using it and have to say it is just so much better. I'm no longer having any problems and the program is both FREE and really works great.
So good by Opera Mail. I'm sorry to see you go but you had just too many quirks to have the pleasant experience I now enjoy.
I just picked up a new computer and would like to get what ever personalized stuff is on the old one exported/copied to the new one.
I see there is no longer an export utility in Opera so I am kind of stuck here.
Any help out there?
RSS Feeds: I use Opera Mail. I will admit I couldn't find any easy way to import my feed list into Opera Mail but I did copy from Opera 12 each feed into Opera Mail and it is working fine.
I pretty much have the same issues you have written about but after 10+ years, Opera simple didn't render the web pages I went to the most. The transition was a bit difficult losing the combined Mail, RSS Feeds, the Favorite Sidebar and Notes but I am running Opera 30 as well as 29 and the Sidebar and Notes work fine.
Once you get used to Opera 29/30 and add Opera Mail, the total experience is pretty close.
Haven't tried your suggestion but it seems like it might work - Thank you.
The reason I wanted to do this is now no longer needed. I was having trouble with blank rows within the RSS feeds when I opened Opera Mail. I created another copy to see if it was a corrupt database as someone had suggested.
The same thing continued in the new copy of Opera Mail and I found out how it happens.
If I leave any RSS feed selected and shut down Opera Mail it may or may not create those blank rows. If I shut Opera Mail down and anything in the mail section is selected I have no problems.
Also I noticed that if I select Compose and any RSS feed is selected I lose most of the features associated with composing. So as long as I'm anywhere in the mail section and not the RSS feed section all is well.
I too have been using Opera for many years without an ad blocker. That said I recently installed the AdBlock extension.
It just works. No ads. It's only been a little over a week but what a difference.
I have 2 copies of Opera Mail.
I would like to be able to get all of the email from one, merged into the other.
Is this possible? If so, could some kind soul explain how to do this. Import/export doesn't seem to be the answer.
Thank you,
i would like to see titles added to the tiles in Opera Coast.
There is plenty of room to add titles and there are many of them have graphics that don't really depict what site the represent.
