Opera 12 has/had many problems over years with webpages using modern Javascript and is not supported anymore on most actual frameworks. I think, Webdesigners and JS programmers wont fix their webpages for very old browsers with less than 1.5% users.

In Windows 8 you will find an uninstaller in 'Programs and Features' inside your 'Control Panel'. IIRC its there in Windows 7 also. I'm not sure if you are running Vista or something older as I haven;t used them in ages.

You can log the connection of the outgoing server, send a message and decode the data for your password to get your password. There's really no other way to get the password short of using a password recovery option on the mail provider's site.

If you navigate along that folder path and double-click the launcher.exe file, does Opera open? Also, if it doesn't, in Task Manager, are there any Opera processes started?

open opera:config#UserPrefs|DisableOperaPackageAutoUpdate tick Disable Opera Package AutoUpdate Hit button Save Restart Opera 12

Maybe the developers should listen, because I'm not someone who gets pissed off easily, but they've managed to piss me off to the point of writing to this forum. Like I said I've been using this for years and now they're removing basic functionality and making it impossible to use. They're certainly shooting themselves in the foot. I've recommended Opera to many people in the past, and got many users. Now I can no longer use or recommend this.

why do you think that someone need a clone of Chrome?

We don't think, we know. The old rendering engine was falling behind technologically and the dev team felt their resources would be better utilized by adopting a renderer made by someone else and focusing on building a good UI for it instead of trying to compete with companies like Google and Microsoft. The old Opera UI was not compatible with the new renderer and it would have taken more work to adapt it then start from scratch. So, here we are.

Thats what the bookmarks bar is for. A stng said, its gone and it wont be reprogrammed for the new Opera. You'll either have to adapt or hope someone makes an extension that mimics the functionality. Or you could program an extension yourself of course. A couple of people here on the forums have done that to make changes they wanted.

Have you tried a third party download manager like FlashGet? There is also an extension for this one for Opera. I haven't used a download manager in a long time but back in the good old dial-up Internet days, they where a god send.

Nah, I was talking to the OP, who ended his post with "So long Opera, and thanks for all the fish." It looked to me like he came here just to dumb a huge list of things he hates now and that he wasn't going to bother reading the responses.
Starting a search with a single letter changes the search engine. Can this be disabled?

Or of course, you could include the letter for your desired search engine first (as in, "g D two" for Google).
