As a longtime and happy Opera user I don't understand how something as essential as favorites (or, in this case, bookmarks) can be hidden like they are in Opera 29. It almost looks like it was deliberately done; or is this just bad design? I use bookmarks every single time I am on the Internet, and in my opinion this "where the heck are the dang bookmarks" system has no future. I have already uninstalled Opera 29 and 30 and when Opera 12 stops functioning (it has already started to), it's bye-bye Opera and Hello Internet Explorer or Hello Firefox.

Calling up BookmarksOpera for Windows
Does anybody know how to call up the bookmarks with one click in Opera 29, like you can do in any other browser? So far I am less than impressed with Opera 29, Microsoft IE looks more and more attractive.

RE: They've ruined the bookmarksOpera for Windows
I have used Opera for years because of some features that made it different from other browsers, most importantly the bookmark feature that was "one-click"-accessible on the left side. With the current version it takes at least two clicks to get to the bookmarks, and then they cover the whole page.
Now that Opera looks like any other browser on the market, there is really no reason to use it anymore. If I wanted another Google Chrome, I would use Google Chrome.
It seems to me that Internet Explorer and Firefox are the only browsers that still offer "one-click"-accessibility for bookmarks, evrybody else does everything the can to drive users back to Microsoft and Mozilla.
I will try to use Opera version 12 until it does not work anymore and then it's bye-bye Opera and hello Internet Explorer. -
Why?Opera for Windows
There are enough browsers on the market, I used Opera because of the password feature and the easy access bookmarks panel on the left side of the screen. Now accessing the bookmarks requires several clicks or I have to have another bar across the top of the screen, which I hate. The password key seems to be gone completely.
So why would I continue to use Opera? As I said, there are enough other browsers on themarket.
