Thats a showstopper for me. I come from Chrome, Edge and other Chromium browsers and used this feature for years.

Very disappointing and unfortunately I go back to Edge now. I used Opera in the old days and looked forward trying it again. But now I will uninstall on my computers and phone.

@quicksite The 40 tabs most probably won't be all needed, so maybe do a selection before bookmarking the ones that really matter.

Well, if you want to open them on Opera for desktops, just sign in to Sync.

@leocg I did see that after I posted, sorry about that. I saw under advanced search that you can specify which categories to search through, and whether or not to include child folders. What would you recommend as a good way to access that search configuration easily when I am using Opera for Android, and want to limit my search results to just Opera for Android posts? Only thing I can think of off the top of my head is to bookmark that advanced search parameter ?

It wasn't clear to me whether that advanced search configuration would be persistent across all future settings ... In which case I would just swipe open that left menu and tap search.. ?

@leocg OK thank you... I found an earlier thread on this issue from 2019 and quite a lot of agreement to change that color or give several alt-options. I read your comment that "this is the color the designers chose".

So no options in flags to modify? I presume not,

On the right-side of the address bar in Chrome is an icon with a picture of a person. Click it, choose "add", give it a name, and create it. You can then use that icon to switch to that profile. Or, close Chrome and use the desktop shortcut that's created for that profile. Test with that profile, but don't import or sync anything. See how things work there.

@diezi Thank you, I think it's best I just accept that as the case. I've been in process of trying to switch over to Opera as my primary browser, but keep running into usability problems re workflow efficiency. Maybe I must resign self to use 2 browsers -- Opera for most things (has less of performance lag than Chrome), and Chrome for searches & what not. Thank you.

@leocg Thanks very much. Sorry I posted off-topic. I see where I was confused. I'd set my preference s to only show url bar when scrolling. But I tapped the timestamp as you described, and worked perfectly: url was exposed, then I tapped "add to speed-dial". For sake of others I've attached screenshots.

The problem is most likely the file size. I have some 800 bookmarks but no favicons, so the file size for the .html file is less than 200 kb. There is a way to remove favicons from a bookmarks.html file. See this page and look at step 2.

Hey thank you both very much! That makes sense that it would relate to Sync. I have Opera browser on 2 macs, and on my android phone. (It's been my primary mobile browser for 12 years! ) ... I guess I should do a Bookmarks Export to an html file, and at least protect the state of "how things are right now"... Now that it's clear to me y'all don't/didn't have this problem of shifting tile order, I will focus on my end. Good night

If he completely reinstalled his OS - to the point of needing to recreate the user account - then the actual password used wouldn't matter. If you have to recreate the account then your locally-stored passwords would be unreadable. Not that it should matter to Sync.

I do agree that the mgmt is not that intuitive, especially if you are using List mode. But what you can do is to Click & drag, as if it was your Desktop. I've attached a print screen, hope it helps to understand. What I usually do to ease the process, is to change the view mode, to the option in the middle, on the top left corner.
