Error message when installing VPN Pro

Same here. It first asked me to install .NET v.8 or above. I did. Then it started giving the sufficient privileges error. It started happening with the recent Opera update.
Everywhere I see the support people just pasting the link to the support page but there is nothing related to the issue in there.
There is an issue in reddit without any solution: https://www.reddit.com/r/operabrowser/comments/107bgx1/cannot_fix_vpn_not_working_on_opera_browser
There is this policy editor setting mentioned here and there which did not solve the issue for me: https://www.blackfog.com/knowledge-base/privileges-to-install-system-services

@Rob-B I've been unable to run VPN Pro on my Mac for a few days - Opera support have asked me to send screenshots and have not said there is an issue their end. I didn't know it had been 'upgraded'...

Hi @daemonika
That is an oddly specific version but it worked. I uninstalled the other .NET version and installed 8.0.16 and I was able to install VPN pro without getting the privileges error. Thank you.
Here is the .NET version link: https://builds.dotnet.microsoft.com/dotnet/WindowsDesktop/8.0.16/windowsdesktop-runtime-8.0.16-win-x64.exe

I'm paying for a VPN Pro subscription and the service doesn't work. It stopped working 2 or 3 days ago and nothing I do will get it working again.
Typically, there's no proper technical support, it's impossible to talk to a real human being to resolve the issue. All in all, deeply frustrating. I wont be renewing my subscription.

IThis is very frustrating. Plus, I recently renewed my subscription and I'm starting to suspect that no one will give me my money back.

YPN Pro no working for me either. On windows 10 or 11 and that is using .NET 8.0.16. It worked before the new version of VPN Pro came along

The issue was already escalated it to our Technical team for further investigation. We'll get back to you when we have an update.

@giampi @daemonika Any update on VPN Pro services? This is a service many people pay for and secure VPN is required for many businesses internet access.

I swear it happens every single time they update it or anything. It is so frustrating for a paid service to require so much routine troubleshooting and effort when its advertised as being built in and easy to use.

Paying member here. Windows 11. Uninstalled, re-installed. Force stopped crap that I couldn't uninstall. Went and manually deleted anything Opera related.
Reinstalled.
I can login to a tab, and then the next tab won't recognize me as logged in.
I can't even push the "button" to connect to a VPN. This sucks!

@USMCsilver Yes it's impossible to connect to VpnPro and to Vpn not Pro. A disaster
