I was playing with the settings of opera, changing the language to something other than English, as I'm learning another language. On the Mac this doesn't change the menu items because that's done on system settings which is a step too far for me on immersive language experience; but the search engine is now in the new language. How does the search engine pick up the browser setting for language?

RE: Can't use VPN without VPN ProOpera for Mac
@luigibinladecans Just had a look at this on my Mac. As far as I can see yu can still use the the free vpn, but OPera are pushing their new pro product, and with very little info around it (not good)
On my screen I see bottom to top:
Subscribe area (purple/pink)
above that a box with "optimal location"
Above that wording. "Unprotected .....enable enhanced privacy"
Above this wording a large connect button/icon:Click that and the free VPN works as usual, and you can select your optimal region.

Acceptable ads on by defaultOpera for Windows
While I was checking whether the ad/tracking blocker was stopping me from logging onto a particular website I noticed that there is now an "accepable ad" option in addition to "block ads" and "block trackers". This is on by default. Quite what an accepable ad is I don't know, but the sites where I switch off the adblocker (newspapers and journals mainly) still detect the adblocker if the "acceptable ads" is on and the main adblocker in place. Don't know quite what I'm saying, just saying it!

RE: iOS12 opera screen goes black and then seems to crashOpera Browser
@rob-b No, spoke too soon. what seems to happen is if I can touch a page that is open it works for a while, or can get to the start page, but if I type in the address bar it crashes

@rob-b sods law, no sooner had I posted this then it worked fine. Cleared my history first, so whether there was script running on a page that caused problems I don't know!

iOS12 opera screen goes black and then seems to crashOpera Browser
Opera seems to crash but is still open when I select the home button. Is this simply because my iPad is too old, I can’t run anything beyond iOS12

RE: new to iOS: which version to install?Opera Browser
There is only one version of Opera for iOS. It was called opera touch but now is just called Opera. An old and very quirky browser called Coast is still downloadable; I don’t know if it’s actually still listed in the app store or whether I can download it because I had it installed in the past.
My ipad is pretty old, can I can only run iOS 12 and opera doesn’t run very well in its recent version. I don’t know how it performs on newer iOS. Opera is my main browser on Windows Mac and Android, ( there are three versions for Android), but I haven’t been impressed with it on iOS, which is a real pity.
