RE: Opera for Windows disconnects my accountOpera for Windows
@bostro-x Is this happening after you try to sync Flow via the side bar?
I've ben having problems like this, and found (so far, but haven't really put it to the test) that things seems to be better if I sync everything using opera.com/connect

RE: Is there a way to sync Bookmarks between PC and Opera on iOS?Opera Browser
@sttst No there isn't. The only sync mechanism is to use Flow, which has limited use and a lot of people, but not everyone seem to be having trouble getting this to connect properly in Opera One (me included).
The other way, possibly, is to look at sync.opera.com while logged into your account which shows you your book marks etc. There you might get access. I cant display this page on my device which may be because I don't have an up to date iOs; so this may or may not be a work around.
The bottom line is that flow is the only syncing option. I think there are plenty of threads which show frustration with this.

RE: Flow logs me out of Opera accountOpera for Windows
@yoavash There is a thread elsewhere about flow not working properly.
I am definitely seeing the same problem as you on both Mac and Windows when I had no problems connecting before with the older version of Opera.

RE: Aria only translates to English when using translate menu?AI tools: Sidebar, Prompts, AI tooltip
@pzygmanski I just tried with another installation I have with the language set to Norwegian and Aria translates to Norwegian, I also changed the main language to French and translation was in French. So if your main language you use the browser in is English then you will have to use another translator like Google/Bing (I use an extension ae which is fairly useful)

RE: Windows Re-opening In DockOpera for Mac
@dusty-bin-0 Ok my misunderstanding.
I was trying to find something that was consistent; with app open and sitting on dock. However, when I opened up my computer one app opened a window anyway ( and a couple of other) and opera didn't. It seems a bit random to me.On my machine, if I minimise Opera it seems to stay minimised when I switch on but does a strange little maximise minimise maximise dance when I select it. I've tended to ignore the irritation of an open window because I seem to have a problem with vpnpro if I don't, and as ninety per cent of the time I'm just using Opera I put with.
My Mac doesn't support Ventura, so I'm only as far as Monterey, which I don't really like for some reason.
Sorry I can't be much more help than that.

RE: Windows Re-opening In DockOpera for Mac
@dusty-bin-0 A bit more playing and I've got something consistent.
"Open windows on restart "selected when you shut down,
Close window but don't quit programs when you shut down. That seems to work

RE: Windows Re-opening In DockOpera for Mac
@rob-b Actually I don't think it will help. It's not just with Opera I've found this happening. I tried various restart options, minimise, not minimised, with box ticked without.
The only time I got things to minimise on reopening was leaving things alone; ie box ticked, window left open when I shut down (but that in the past has always resulted in the window being open on startup, but not this time!) -
RE: Windows Re-opening In DockOpera for Mac
@dusty-bin-0 This may not help, but when you shut down is there a tickbox with something like "reopen windows on restart/startup"? I don't use Ventura, and I haven't got my Mac on so I can't remember exactly.

View sync data not showing as expectedOpera for Windows
On my Opera Account page when I select view synchronized data, I was expecting to see an account page with all all the items that are in sync (categorized). Instead this now takes me back to sync settings, which are then reset to "do not sync data", and I Have to start the sync process again. This is in addition to the connecting flow between devices problem which it seems several people are having trouble with. For me part problem is that it logs me out and so I keep having to log in again.

RE: Flow only connects two Android devicesOpera for Windows
@aokog Thanks for reply. I've tried what you suggested, same problem (Mac and Windows), what's more if I close the log into account page/tab, even though I am logged into sync as usual it logs me out of the sync.

RE: Flow only connects two Android devicesOpera for Windows
@leocg I have a similar Problem. I've had no problem connecting before. My phone reads the QR code, I then have to log in to my account, the usual code check does not appear on my Windows*, I can then add a page from my Windows machine, My android acknowledges the shared page, but then there are no connections on my Windows machine, amd I have to start the process again.
- It's been a while since I had to reconnect devices so if I remember right, a code appears on both devices to check the connection.

Opera forums not displaying until refreshedGeneral
I'm writing this in another browser because the forums is not displaying anything until I refresh the page. This is on the general topic list and and when I go to a particular topic. Also I couldn't create a new topic, hence using Vivaldi to write this. Cleared history disabled a new plugin, which I had added.
Just had so many little niggles with Opera One .
This version is 101.0.4843.25
Just did a recover, and that sees to have sorted it, but now have to reset all the defaults to how I want them.

RE: How do I get the old look back? Do I have to downgrade?Opera for Windows
@meeker-morgan I don't know, because the main version I use was just a standard upgrade. I thought maybe it was to do with using a standalone version (USB), but I checked and that's not the case. I've had several different installations on the one machine, and the USB one is not the one I use, and I've disabled the upgrade on that.
It may be because I've had different versions installed (because I fiddle), and that's causing some confusion. The only other thing I can think of is that because I don't have administrator rights on my work desktop the installation is only for current user, whereas my home computers I am the administrator; though I don't see why that should make a difference as all are just the result of the standard upgrading process.
As I don't use workspaces the animation doesn't really bother me other than I now know it's there. It is a quirky design and I can see why it would be annoying; I suppose it makes it clear you are jumping from one space to another.
-
RE: How do I get the old look back? Do I have to downgrade?Opera for Windows
@rob-b So I get the animation on Mac and my Windows Laptop, but on my desktop machine at work the worspaces just switch as they used to with no animation.
-
RE: How do I get the old look back? Do I have to downgrade?Opera for Windows
Hmm I can't/don't see any animations when switching workspaces, other than the workspace icon changing which, having just checked on older version, is the same as before.
I'm not overly sold on the new look, because I like the plainness of the older version, but I've been trying out the developer version before this so I knew it was coming. On the other hand it's not so radically different and the things I don't particularly like (some of the wallpapers) I can ignore: changing icons on the speeddial doesn't seem to work.

RE: [Duplicated]Intrusive adverts on Speed DialOpera for Android
@salfordian A few days ago I just stuck them in their own folder on speed dial. I have four or five I keep removing VOXi, Tinder, can't remember what esle). I can just ignore them now.
-
RE: [Duplicated]Intrusive adverts on Speed DialOpera for Android
@salfordian Actually I think Vivaldi does do this, but not as persistently (or irritatingly) as Opera. There are certainly items on my Vivaldi speed dial that I didn't put there. I know it kind of defeats the object but you can switch speed dial off, and just use bookmarks, which I think I'm going to do.

RE: [Solved]Who actually runs VPN Pro? How's your experience with it been?Opera for Windows
@leocg Thanks for the reply. I actually was able to contact Opera and chat with a real person, after chatting with the Bot; which surprised me. Yes Xsolla handle the payments for desktop access and Google Play for Android, and the VPN is Opera owned and run. However, I would still say it's not exactly clear, but there is more info available than I thought; possibly too much paranoia going on.
-
[Solved]Who actually runs VPN Pro? How's your experience with it been?Opera for Windows
Is the the VPN owned and run by Opera, or does a third party own it; if you go to the subscription you are taken to Xsolla and all the legal policies, EULA, privacy etc.. are agreements made with Xsolla. There doesn't really seem to be very much detail about this on Opera's site.
THose of you who have used it, has it proved better than the standard VPN? What benefit is there is the pro version?
