[Solved]Can someone explain how the language setting of the browser changes/interacts with search page settings

I was playing with the settings of opera, changing the language to something other than English, as I'm learning another language. On the Mac this doesn't change the menu items because that's done on system settings which is a step too far for me on immersive language experience; but the search engine is now in the new language. How does the search engine pick up the browser setting for language?

@rob-b I would also add that youtube and facebook also come up in the language I chose (not so keen on that)

@rob-b When you access a web page, the browser sends some info to the site that includes the preferred languages. The site may or may not use that info to give you a localized version.
