[Duplicated]Dark Mode

@Mlipka Awesome! Opera is really a cool company and I hope they do well in the AI Agentic Browser wars to come. Like I said it's pretty cool to glimpse the future of web browsing.
Just my thoughts on the matter. Edge excels because it's a all encompassing universe of products, the Microsoft 365 suite, one price and I get tools I use daily, including a pretty capable AI named CoPilot. I use it at home and at work. They are knocking it out of the park at the moment.
It's what Google was trying to do, until they became preoccupied with social justice, leftist propaganda, and climate. The end is near for them. Not because I don't agree with their "ideas," but I don't want my tools to treat me like they are morally superior, all knowing nannys.
I don't mind paying for a product that is worth the price. I also refuse to be a submissive sheep to any corporate overloard who believes they know what I need more than I do or what I should think.
I'm not sure where Opera will fit in the browser segment, but Comet was an overhyped, though not bad attempt, Vivaldi is cult like, Chrome is a nanny dominatrix, Brave is for spys, and Edge is showing everyone how it's done. At this moment.
Peace! -

I'm testing Opera Air, but the light mode is tiring for my eyes; a dark mode and forcing dark mode on websites would be a plus. Without it, I have to stop using Opera Air.
10 minutes later, my eyes were tired and burning.
Medically, I have to stop using Opera Air. If it had a dark mode, I would continue to use it because I prefer it among the three versions of the Opera browser.
I'm going back to Opera One and Gx.

the aesthetics of the browser was exactly what i was looking for but i have to switch back to GX just because no dark mode, and when i turn on dark mode on websites the tab icons and bar are too light it just makes it pointless. dark mode is much more soothing and I assumed that would be the first thing that would come with a browser that puts mindfulness first

We need dark mode in Air, it's impossible to use the browser at night

@mohamedsalah Dark Mode is essential for working in low-light environments. Iām particularly sensitive to bright screens, and the default light mode causes headaches when I work at night. Iād love to fully transition my workflow from Opera to Opera Air, but the lack of Dark Mode is the only thing holding me back. Please consider adding it as an option, so users who need it can enable it for a more comfortable experience.

Opera Air is a promising browser, and I believe its user experience could be significantly enhanced with the addition of a dark mode option.

The dark mode is great! Once I saw it had it I redownloaded Air. Dark mode works well for the most part but just curious if more enhancements will be coming later on to fix things like the settings menus etc to match the dark mode theme?

@scrapefour yes, more improvements in the Dark Mode is coming. We are already working on them.

Wow...I thought it was hopeless and yet Opera actually listened. The sign of a successful company is that they listen to their customers instead of dominating them to their will. Well done Opera. I am going to go buy Opera stock now in my 401K because this company looks like they are interested in wining the browser wars. Good luck Opera. I'm rooting for you.

As @TomaszStawarz noted, some areas still need adjustments, but we wanted to share the most common parts with you right away.
We're glad you like it, guys! If you'd like to support us, please share AIR with anyone who might enjoy it or was waiting for dark mode. We understand that you might sometimes feel things are missing or delivered late, but please know that we carefully read and consider all your feedback.

@Mlipka force dark mode on all pages option is missing, transparent wallpapers on speed dial have white background not gray like in regular opera , active tab is not gray just the icon of a tab turns gray,

1. force dark mode on all pages option is missing
That is correct. Force dark mode comes from chromium and requires more research from our side. We have reports that suggest such feature might cause flashes or other strange behavior. So we want to make sure to keep the browser healthy before adding it.2. transparent wallpapers on speed dial have white background not gray like in regular opera
I'm afraid I don't understand what do you mean by "transparent wallpapers". Could be so kind and share some screenshots?3. active tab is not gray, just the icon of a tab turns gray
Tabs and visibility of active tab will be part of upcoming improvements. It won't be gray, but it will be more clear which tab is the active tab.4. Tab Islands this year
Under research. However, we don't expect to have it this year.5. will you implement chrome 140 flag to reduce white flashes : CSS caret-animation property
Also under research. Might be a part of upcoming improvements but can't promise that. -

@Mlipka 1. Chrome 140 most likely fixes those issues with CSS caret-animation property
2. Here's the example of Opera One with transparent PNG wallpaperVS opera air
Opera AIR shipped with major issues that turned off a lot of users, number biggest issue with 40 000 views just on opera forum was Dark Mode number 2 was Tab Islands feature has more than 20 000 views among different threads and sites, how is this not a priority before adding additional features
