I just can't understand how it's possible to release a new browser without a dark mode. These days, all major browsers (Firefox, Edge, Brave, Safari, and Google Chrome) have it as a standard feature. I honestly don't get why this hasn't been implemented yet. If it doesn't arrive soon, I'll probably switch back to Edge.

Opera Air is a great browser with genuinely good features, but after a long day of work, my eyes hurt. I also don’t want to install some third-party extension that only half works.
This should be something your development team could add to the browser in a single sprint.

@mohamedsalah I'm at peace at dark. I appreciate that you started with a light theme and the reasoning behind it. However, for many users, including myself, a dark mode is crucial for both comfort and productivity. The reduced blue light and the overall aesthetic of a dark mode can significantly improve the user experience.

Many users find dark mode less straining on the eyes, especially during extended use. It also tends to help with focus and reduce distractions. The implementation of a dark mode would greatly enhance the accessibility and appeal of the browser for a wider range of users. I hope you can make this the top priority. Thanks!

              Hello fellow Dark Mode Champions!

Has you guys tried Comet? This thing is very good. You can use the Perplexity AI to control the browser, summarize emails, etc. Its very early stages, and not perfect, but very cool glimpse of the future and...it's got Dark Mode!!!! LOL.

I have to say Microsoft Edge is my daily driver, but I'm playing with Comet and it may replace it. I dropped Opera. It's ok, but it's just a browser. AIR is "never again" even if they fix dark mode, it's just the principle of the thing now.

                Hey!
As I mentioned previously, we're preparing something "dark" related for you in the near future.

I don't want to spoil the surprise, but once it's ready I will let you know,

                Stay tuned!

@MomoTrader809 Dark Mode should be pretty basic option but for example I never use Opera (although I regularly try it out) because the sidebar is unusable for me. Vivaldi and Sidekick allowed custom URLs (even edge for some point), while Opera forces its own apps on me and you can’t even modify them. Productivity would lie precisely in me defining what I want to see in a sidebar, wouldn’t it?

I think Opera Air’s design is pretty cool, but the fact is that nowadays, with 500+ nit laptops and insanely bright monitors, the light theme isn’t viable.

@Mlipka Awesome! Opera is really a cool company and I hope they do well in the AI Agentic Browser wars to come. Like I said it's pretty cool to glimpse the future of web browsing.

Just my thoughts on the matter. Edge excels because it's a all encompassing universe of products, the Microsoft 365 suite, one price and I get tools I use daily, including a pretty capable AI named CoPilot. I use it at home and at work. They are knocking it out of the park at the moment.

It's what Google was trying to do, until they became preoccupied with social justice, leftist propaganda, and climate. The end is near for them. Not because I don't agree with their "ideas," but I don't want my tools to treat me like they are morally superior, all knowing nannys.

I don't mind paying for a product that is worth the price. I also refuse to be a submissive sheep to any corporate overloard who believes they know what I need more than I do or what I should think.

I'm not sure where Opera will fit in the browser segment, but Comet was an overhyped, though not bad attempt, Vivaldi is cult like, Chrome is a nanny dominatrix, Brave is for spys, and Edge is showing everyone how it's done. At this moment.
                    Peace!

I'm testing Opera Air, but the light mode is tiring for my eyes; a dark mode and forcing dark mode on websites would be a plus. Without it, I have to stop using Opera Air.

10 minutes later, my eyes were tired and burning.

Medically, I have to stop using Opera Air. If it had a dark mode, I would continue to use it because I prefer it among the three versions of the Opera browser.

I'm going back to Opera One and Gx.

the aesthetics of the browser was exactly what i was looking for but i have to switch back to GX just because no dark mode, and when i turn on dark mode on websites the tab icons and bar are too light it just makes it pointless. dark mode is much more soothing and I assumed that would be the first thing that would come with a browser that puts mindfulness first
