Passwords messed up

I'm experiencing the same issue: for any site where I have multiple accounts, all the accounts' password have been set to the same password. As I have Sync enabled, now the issue is spread across all my devices and there is no way of recovering the correct passwords.
Years of password management, which is the reason why I'm still sticking to Opera, are now gone.

Same here on my opera gx!
I've got over 2000 passwords in opera gx. All of them are messed up. On all my devices! Windows, ios, android, macos...
For example on gmail i have 10-15 different mail addresses and different passwords for each.
Now opera says i have 15 mails and one password, same password for all emails.
So one combination is correct and 14 others are wrong.
How on earth could this happen?
A big disappointment....
Any ways to fix?
I believe not! -

@xpatze85x said in Passwords messed up:
with yesterdays opera update the problem seems to habe been solved! Finally! but to be safe for another time, i'm going to export all passwords and save them locally
wrong passwords got fixed automatically?
or you had to fix them manually and not messing up anymore? If it fixes itself i will wait.
Otherwise for 2000+ passwords to fix manually, i will definitely change my browser. sadly. -

Hello, sorry about our late reply, but we'd like to investigate on Opera for Android side. Please answer the questions below.
- Does it only happen when synchronization is enabled? If so, which Opera products are connected? (e.g. PC and Opera for Android)
- Some example sites and how many accounts for one of the reproducing sites? (e.g. we have got a report about Xiaomi account and FB)

@burnout426 I'm using sync . That happened while using sync and without logout.
One morning all accounts connected to one domain got same passwords . I saved my self using pc export passwords as a file (pc was offline fortunately) and using that to import and than sync devices . Didn't happen after that. -

@xpatze85x Nope, I am using the latest versions on all my devices (6 or so), and this issue still persists on all of them

Me too, I've been struggling with this issue for over a year.
Opera GX
LVL4 (core: 97.0.4719.89)
System:Windows 10 64-bitDifferent accounts of the same website have all the same password now. Not what I would call a smart password management system..

--> yes, for me PC Opera GX and Opera Android - Some example sites and how many accounts for one of the reproducing sites? (e.g. we have got a report about Xiaomi account and FB)
--> many sites are affected, and passwords are even messed up between sites

Please fix this! I have the same problem, all of my passwords are the same for each website. I have sync on and 1 android opera and 1 opera pc for windows. I tried fixing the passwords but at the next day they all changed to the same one again. That happened with google accounts, instagram, riot games etc. This is not usable anymore. I'm changing to another browser if this isn't fixed fast...
