@hucker hey, answering your question:
@hucker said in Opera Cashback:
Indeed, why can't I just turn it on once and it lasts forever? Clearly I want the cashback on every purchase!
it's a better way to activate cashback each time before the purchase to make sure that you will get it tracked, and other services won't overwrite parameters from the link.
@hucker said in Opera Cashback:
And why TWO popups? I get one on the top left and one on the top right!
you probably have cashback badge enabled and extension together, if you are using Opera browser you can stick to one, badge or extension solution

Is there a way to stop the desktop browser having two popups?
The only badge is enabled by default(can be disabled in browser settings), the Opera Cashback extension you can install or remove by yourself(opera://extensions -> Opera Cashback -> disable via switcher).
@hucker said in Opera Cashback:
Even better why can't it just stay activated all the time?
We can't decide for user to activate cashback or not that's why It's very important to activate cashback before the each purchase in the shop before the purchase.
@hucker said in Opera Cashback:
The 48 hours thing is ambiguous, I thought it meant I couldn't shop with cashback for 48 hours.
Please share where exactly the copy isn't really clear. Thanks!

I get Nectar points from Ebay too, and that's just permalinked. This needs to be done in a smoother way, I assume at the moment it's doing some clumsy system of adjusting the URL? As it is, I only get cashback from Opera 50% of the time, because well, people are forgetfull!

Ah, thanks. I've disabled the extension and the badge remains. But why are there two methods?

In the extension, when I click activate it says "Cashback will be automatically added to your account in 48 hours." The first time it did this I assumed it was a setup time, and I wouldn't start earning cashback until 2 days had passed. But it says the same thing every time. To me it sounds like the purchase I'm about to make will not get cashback, because my signing up hasn't completed for another 48 hours. I would suggest adding "from this purchase" so it says "Cashback for this purchase will be automatically added to your account in 48 hours".

@katarzynamos: The information that you can either use Opera Cashback or Genius is a statement of Opera's official support, I can send you this email, I still have it. Thanks for the advices, but don't you find it a bit strange that for each transaction over 100e I "forgot" to activate the cashback, but cheaper transactions are always credited very quickly? Dozens of proper transactions over 100e were not charged on my account, and sending emails with bills, screenshots etc. doesn't help, Opera's support just doesn't respond. So yes, this is cheating and tricking people.

It needs to be reprogrammed so it's always on. Why should we have to remember?

Argh!!! Adverts everywhere! Why does Opera Cashback disable all my extensions?! My adblocker went off and Ebay became a cluttered mess!
"For a seamless shopping experience, we've disabled extensions in this workspace". Hardly seamless is it?

Payout stopped working for me.
For several weeks now the required amount of cashback on my account has been confirmed, but there is no automatic payouts.
I tried to specify different credit cards in the payout settings - it does not work.
I contacted Opera Cashback support twice, through the website and through email. I didn't get any response other than automatic confirmation.
I don’t understand why such a cashback service is needed if the cashback cannot be received, and the support service does not work.
Perhaps this message will somehow improve the situation, but for now I use another cashback service. -

My Opera now says (after changing many times) up to 1,2% cashback. I'm unfamiliar with this notation. Does that mean 1% or 2%? Why are two numbers listed?

@hucker Change the comma to a point.
A typo? 1.000 is a very accurate one. 1,000 is a thousand. It's called a decimal point, not a decimal comma.

@leocg Not good to do things like that differently to everyone else, that's how NASA crashed a spacecraft. As I said, it's a decimal Point And since the program functions in English, it should perhaps use English notation? Anyway we're all on the SI system, here's the official explanation:

@hucker Several countries in South America, Central America, Africa, Asia use comma as a decimal separator.
Ah, the dominions of the 3rd... no I'd better not say that. The EU.
The EU uses the SI standard don't they? So why mess up the .?
