Cannot stay signed into Opera

I registered yesterday for an account and verified my registration. And I want to sync my data between a couple computers. However, Opera will not keep me signed in or allow me to access the configuration for sync. I get this message after a while on the settings page...
"An error occurred while attempting to sign in"
This happens after I am told that I have signed in successfully. During the brief period that I am supposedly signed in the Advanced Configuration button is grayed out and I cannot do anything with it. Then it kicks me out as it did just now and asks me to sign in again. Any help out there ? Thanks !

This is in the latest released version 34. It is still happening this morning. I sign in and it shows green in the upper right of the browser, but it soon changes to the red x. It is frustrating as I would like to sync Opera up with my laptop. I did try another e mail address also.

I can stay signed in on average between 25 and 30 seconds and then it kicks me off. When I click on the icon to log back in, it tells me that something went wrong and synchronization stopped because of an error and to please sign back in.

It seems that the server is not accepting your login.
Go to https://sync.opera.com/web/ and click on "reset sync data". See if it helps.

Repeated the process, cleared my cache and it stayed logged on almost two minutes.

Tracing route to us.sync.opera.com
Same as here and it's working fine so probably not a server issue.
Could you do a standalone install of Opera and check if you are able to connect from there?

I shall do that this morning here on my laptop and see what happens. Really happy with the way I have Opera set up and configured here on my new desktop. Stay tuned and thanks for the help up to this point.

Guess what. Stupid me seems to have found the problem. Because my bank site (Chase) and Time Warner account site tell me that I am using an outdated browser, I had installed a User-Agent Switcher extension and had it set to "Chrome". Now that it is turned off I can stay connected. Sometimes it takes me a little while and a night of sleep to see something that I had overlooked.

I am also experiencing the issue described by the OP and also had a user agent switcher installed. I have disabled it and will check back with the results in a couple weeks. Here's a link to the extension:
