Opera used to have single file Save As functionality years ago. In fact out of most of the more common browsers it was the only one to actually do that properly (into a single file, mht I think). That was around v12.

Then after the main change (to chromium ?) it no longer did that, and I found and started using the Extensions 'SingleFile' and 'SingleFile Core" to allow that. Those extensions no longer work after Opera v28, and Opera keeps updating itself. If I downgrade Opera back to 28, they work fine again.
But Opera keeps on auto updating, and although having tried a few methods to try and stop that it seems it deliberately forces an upgrade.

Opera 30 does not save a web page into a single file. It seems to do the classic html and the folder (named the same).

Does anyone know of a current extension that actually saves to a single file? Or know how to stop Opera auto updating all the time. I do not want the latest version!

      Thanks

You can enable "Save Page as MHTML" in opera:flags

Thanks, that saves it now as one file.
I've yet to test it with different browsers opening the saved files, hopefully that works in a compatible fashion.

It would still be good to be able to turn off the auto-update of Opera. I don't want/need the latest version, and don't like it being pushed down.

opera:flags is not a file. Type it into Opera's address bar to get to a kind of additional settings page.
