I totally get what you're going through. I recently faced a similar issue where Opera GX started using a ton of CPU, especially during video playback. Disabling Hardware Acceleration and switching to OpenGL helped reduce the usage a bit, but it still spikes sometimes. Now, I try to limit tabs and stick to lightweight browsing when possible. For example, checking something simple like the waffle house menu works fine without causing any CPU issues.
