How do I get more reputations on Opera forums.

Hmm. I was searching for an answer on a forum post, and wanted to like one of the responses/comments. But all I get is an animated popup that says I lack "reputation".
Does that mean I actually have to make a post of my own and then get upvotes to that before I can even like a comment on another post?Btw, when I went to reply (comment) on this post, it tells me that this post is "quite old", although it was made only 3 months ago.
Thanks.

To gain more reputation on Opera forums, actively participate by helping others with accurate and helpful answers. Post consistently, stay respectful, and follow forum guidelines. Share tips, report bugs, and contribute to discussions to show your expertise. Upvotes and positive feedback from other users will naturally boost your reputation.
By doing this you may got reputation as CGPA to Percentage is getting nowadays. -

Being active on Opera forums—posting insightful responses, sharing valuable resources, and interacting with other users courteously—is how you establish a reputation. Over time, the community's positive comments and upvotes boost your reputation.

@trumpman We had a problem with spammers creating multiple IDs just ro upvote each other, so we had to make a rule that prevented that.
I get the issue with spammers.
I think the problem with this solution/new policy is that, over time, it will be increasingly difficult for newer members (or those that just participate less frequently) to get to a point where they can qualify, since fewer and fewer active members will be qualified to upvote. This also isn't the type of forum where most will hang out every day, since it's a place most will only visit occasionally (if at all) when they encounter a bug or want to discuss a new feature. So, even just as a starting point, you probably aren't looking at a huge number of people regularly here that are qualified to upvote. I'm not sure it even makes sense to keep the feature at a certain point if almost no one can use it.
(I know this post is now over 9 months old, but I came to it in a Google search when I was trying to figure out why I can no longer upvote things.)

You can increase your reputation on Opera forums by staying active: post helpful answers, share useful resources, engage in discussions, and be consistent. Over time, people upvote and trust members who add real value.
