Thanks as always pesala, that's fine up to a point, but it's not really a substitute for having an indication on the actual thread that you've contributed to it, like every other forum I use has!

Pesala, they could as well realise that 'directory' as a header button, can't they?

For f**** sake! I deleted my account (not this one, different one) and yet it's still available, the whole profile is intact, with posts, join date, gravatar and... subscribed posts for which I now get notifications! for fucks sake - if user wants to delete account please delete it and all data!

Gravatar is a third party service, so Opera is not required to get rid of your Gravatar should you remove your Opera account. However Gravatar does not allow users to remove their accounts, so you may be out of luck on that front, unfortunately.Getting back to these forums, I would like a "Mark forum as read" for every forum here and "Mark all forums as read" function on the main forums index. It would help clear out old threads I haven't read (nor do I want to read) that still have the "New" indicator by it.

This is beyond retarded... so if I "remove" my account in Opera terms this simply means "get the f* out" because we still have your account with ALL details (including e-mail!) and will use them but you will not be able to log in again and so forth... If I had know so I would have change my e-mail before hitting delete button hence there wouldn't be a match to my gravatar!

Lack of email filter at account creation can be a problem, check my account. User /suspecer/ is live and well but could be a spammer.

I guess we'll find out eventually.

This new forum really isn't made for technical support and helping people.
-There are zero options when you create or edit a post so we can't paste block of text with it's original formatting(like part of a config file for example), embed images to show an error message we're getting or show an odd behavior of some kind. Some people seem to be able to do it, but there's no indication or any help on how to achieve these essentials features for a support forum.
-It ignores single line breaks and there's no way to make more than one in a row so we get walls of text instead of properly broken down thoughts and ideas which makes it harder for others to understand us.
-The content is confined to the middle of the page(I'm guessing it has a fixed width or something) so there's a lot of usable space wasted(at least half the page at 1080p resolution) which would cause problems to display bigger pictures and wider code if one would know how to use those. It also makes it harder to follow a text when you have to change line twice as much when you're reading it.
-The webpage has to be refreshed every time one needs to press the edit or flag button which many people will interpret as meaning it can't be done or can only be done once.
-We can see our comments and discussion, but there's no way to see if someone replied to a discussion we didn't start ourselves other than opening it to see or searching for it in the section. This make opening a new discussion for already existing problems very attractive for those who aren't on the forum 24/7 so that they can easily see the answers.
-It's not possible to send private messages to other user to inform them of a change in a discussion, of a solution we want to make sure they've not missed among complex, confusing or off-topic comments or a more appropriate place to continue a somewhat off-topic discussion.
It looks like this was designed for smartphones and single thought comments which is a very bad choice for a technical support forum where people need to explain things in a lot of details to get proper help. I hope they reconsider before it's too late and switch to a more appropriate platform for the forum if they don't want to waste time modifying it into something usable for their purpose.
I know I won't be able to stand it for very long since it make helping others and getting help very hard and unpleasant.

I still don't understand why they didn't just keep the old forum, which had all the facilities needed.
Yes it needed drastic pruning and reorganisation, but that would surely have been a better option than starting from scratch with what must be one of the most user unfriendly forum setups I've ever used!
Still, as you say, it's all about touch screen smartphones and tablets now, and I guess this forum is better for them!

I hated the old forum so I think it was a good idea to change, but sadly it's not really better now, I would even dare to say it's mostly worse.
And I find it hilarious that it works better with opera v12 or firefox than with opera v20.
The discussions with unread comments in opera v20 don't have their background in a darker gray like they are supposed to.

Well, all images are on the cloud as skin or as pictures like 1 april cats, that's extra vis-a-vis androidcentral forums. This forum is tendentiously constructed to work better with Android browser or others with WebKit rendering engine from Google's backyard, neddlessly to say that Opera got a dog in this fight so it's normal to put the face-off spot in their field only that nobody knows what's the name of the game. That's the generic problem with all Opera Software products and services.

@digmed earlier today I accessed the forums normally via Opera for Android (Off-road disabled), now when I access it I get the desktop version instead of the mobile optimized one.
I cleared the cookies + data but I still can't access the mobile version. What happened?

@rafaelluik We made some changes, and unfortunately this seems to have disabled the mobile styling. I'll report it to our CSS-guru who will hopefully have it fixed soon
