      I am having the same issue. The drop-down appeared today for the first time and now, every time I start the browser and open ANY website (I tested it with literally anything I could come up with), the dropdown appears, telling me that an extension requires additional updates. I uninstalled every extension and reinstalled the browser. Nothing changed. I used the " --show-component-extension-options" thing but it does not show me ANY other extension in my list at all. The only thing in my list is the Opera Webblocker.

        @NickyT I just posted a question about the same thing. I am glad you added the screenshot. This is very annoying and I hope it is fixed soon.

          Since the issue is resolved for me, what are the steps to stop receiving email notifications for this thread only (I still want to receive future email notifications but I want to stop them for this specific thread only)?

          Clicking 'unsubscribe' at the bottom of the email opens up the user settings menu.

            @sporty78 At the bottom of the topic there a setting that you can change to Don't follow (or something like that) to stop being notified about replies.

              @leocg

              I click 'watching' at the bottom of the thread page and select 'not watching 'from the drop-down box-This stops emails from this thread but keeps the email notification (about future threads) enabled?

              However, it has nothing to do with changing settings in 'user settings.'

              Is all of that correct?

                @sporty78 Yes, it will stop notifications for the topic only.

                  @leocg

                  1. Am I correct that topping email notifications has nothing to do with changing settings in 'user settings?'

                  2. By the way, 'not watching' continues to send emails-Do I want to 'ignore?'

                      Guys, can you somehow solve this problem without "-show-component-extension-options" Or wait for the next update for Opera ?Безымянный.jpg

                            I am referring to the extension popup that won't stop.

                              @AltairAssassins This fixed it for me. You need to go where the Opera Launcher resides (launcher.exe). Default location is C:\Users[insert username]\AppData\Local\Programs\Opera\

                              You'll need to open this folder in CMD (Command prompt), or you can make a shortcut to the launcher.exe and add the argument "--show-component-extension-options" there (without quotes).

                              Just basically run the launcher.exe with that argument. You can do it like below:

                              CMD Opera with argument

                              Then follow the rest of the instructions from @johnd78 .

                                      @mohamm11 FYI Everyone, you do not need to continue running Opera with this argument. You can remove it after you update the extension. I'd probably advise you do so.

                                        @leocg said in Extension upgrade requires additional permissions...:

                                        @rafiki Hidden extensions exist in other browsers too, they are a way to add resources.

                                        We can see the evidence from Opera but can you point me to anything that confirms Vivaldi, for example, is doing the same?

                                            So can anyone comment on exactly what "Rich Hints Agent" is, and why it suddenly needed additional permissions? And why is the ability to act on this "Extension upgrade requires additional permissions..." user prompt see the offending extension bizarrely hidden from user interaction to address it? Or why you can't disable the extension, or deselect "Allow access to search page results"?

                                            As was mentioned by another user, searching for information on "Rich Hints Agent" comes up with nothing. Not exactly comfortable to learn that there are several hidden extensions operating in the background, with no transparency on their purpose, or what data they are sharing without my explicit consent.

                                            Hopefully a Dev will see this thread and provide some clarity.
