Where's my gravatar!!!???
Yes, it is another question -- PLEEEEEEEASE?
Yet another will be: are there just NORMAL smilies still here? My yellow brothers are like family to me!
(The angle worked the same the second time. Will I risk not copying my text this time? :yikes: ) -

@joshl Your (Gr) avatar should be still there. Did you check Gravatar?
You can upload it to the forum if you prefer.Maybe I will. The confusion is in the "Welcome" thread it's been stated this thing hadn't been affected by the migration, if I remember correctly.

@joshl on desktops the preview appears automatically unless you disable it. For mobiles there seem to be no preview.
Automatically how?
Technically I'm not ondesktop
but on a sort of laptop. But it uses same soft etc. ???
As a new user, you can only post once every 120 second(s) until you have earned 3 reputation - please wait before posting again
How the heck am I a new user??? Is it a bug??

It wasn't (at at least wasn't supposed to be). You're the first case where someone claims to have lost it
After a quick investigation there seems to be a bug in the Gravatar plugin for NodeBB. Your e-mail is not lowercased before calculating its MD5 hash, even though it should, as per https://pl.gravatar.com/site/implement/hash/, hence giving the incorrect hash.
https://www.gravatar.com/avatar/0d23a67ee5f72031910c5b206343f84a -> lowercased (how it should be)
https://www.gravatar.com/avatar/e0e72eafd30524a882727db80dbeebdb -> not lowercased (how it is now)I will file a bug in the plugin and probably fix it myself without waiting for the original developer to step in. If you cannot spare the wait just use the Forum's ability to upload your custom avatar right from your profile page.
Thanks for catching that bug!

@amatczak I'll wait. (By the way, it's a quote from a classic "Angel on my Shoulder" B&W film, delivered by the Smilie character;)

@joshl Desktop meaning a desktop OS like Windows, Linux or Mac.
So it is.
Though nowadays, they make stuff like Windows for phones or like that...

https://github.com/julianlam/nodebb-plugin-gravatar/pull/15 - it is a quick and easy fix. Shouldn't take @julianlam long to review it

@amatczak [WHISPER]Those holes are too small anyway, you can't see heck in it. I'll see what it'll look like: most probably it will have to be changed to something less Ayvazovsky and more Malevich... Like an arse? Well, everybody recognises arse however small the peephole is:crazy:[/WHISPER]

About this retaining of all Markdown functions, I just noticed that four initial spaces in a new line doesn't seem to eventually create an example box, or what people here used to use for showing large pieces of code etc.
Well, it might not be that big a deal per se, but there are older posts where people used thosecode
boxes. Will that be so much big a deal, I do not know: those pieces will be shown as plain text paragraphs... Then again -- certain "non-formatting" will be reverted there... Won't it? -

Something's missing!..
Just dug through my profile pages, did not find such thing as "My topics" or "threads created by the user" or something. Only some recent comments.
We did use to have both -- even in a certain very well visible bar close to the top of most pages. Certainly on the profile page we did.
Will it appear back here? -

?
On your profile page - below the name and stuff - it lists "Posts made by joshl, And yes, it does say 3.8k posts. If you click on the 3 dots to the right of your avatar, the menu should include both Posts (topics started by you) and Comments (replies to existing threads). Note that both appear as one big list, as you scroll down older stuff gets added to the bottom.

Yes, I found it in the dropdown: just "Topics".
And no, no one big list, fortunately; separately "Topics" then "Posts" -

My reply to Steve's latest post wasn't shown in the row when I opened the thread this time now. It appeared folded in that blue "1 reply" -- while I didn't have those previous times - or at least it seemed/seems so.
I did not touch any settings (nor even remember seeing one for that). Why does it get folded or in the row -- and how does one fix it? Is there a setting for that? Myself personally seem to prefer it in one smooth chunk - not chopped into separate folded conversations...
