Well, OK, time to give up with Opera. Opera is not anymore the same as it used to be with Opera Presto. This Opera Blink is only issues and bugs, unlike the good old Opera Presto.

By the way, seems I'm not the only one to face this issue: https://disqus.com/home/discussion/operablogdesktop/private_project_reborn_hits_opera_45_developer_channel/#comment-3190700183

I tried the hack, but it solved nothing

Hi @hibou57, you should be aware, that when using the developer channel of the browser, quite a lot of bugs are pretty expected to occur here, if you want a bit more stable experience, you can try to use Opera beta, or even Opera stable, and additionally keeping an eye, what's going on in the developer channel, just to be up to date with the upcoming features.

Regarding the H264 issue, you can find a solution here.

In regard to the problem with the Flash plug-in, which you have mentioned here, you can try one of the following steps:

        I. If you have already installed the adobe-flashplugin package, you can try to reinstall it as follows: sudo apt-get --reinstall install adobe-flashplugin,

II. Go to Ubuntu wiki page, click on "install the Flash plugin", and follow the instructions. If after you click on the link it does nothing, just follow the steps mentioned below on the page,

III. Go to Adobe Flash for other versions, select your Linux's architecture (64-bit/32-bit), and select "FP for Ubuntu" in step 2, click on "Download now", and follow the instructions.

In case, that you want to install it manually: go to Adobe Flash for other versions, select your Linux's architecture, and select "FP for Linux (.tar.gz) PPAPI" in step 2, download it, and copy libpepflashplayer.so, and manifest.json from the archive to /usr/lib/adobe-flashplugin.

Great addition of a narrow sidebar on mac, but why do the window controls have to change position for it? I would much prefer them to stay horizontal like every in every other application. The narrow sidebar could look the way it does on the speed dial when disabled.

Youtube video not working in last two releases of 45, it plays about 10 seconds, then load circle appears and opera gets stucked. Same if in that 10 second is video skipped to another position. Only process kill helps here, but problems stay. It's really interesting, that Edge have same problem, maybe it is something with windows 10 insider release. But in IE it works fine.

No problems here. But "Stable" windows 10.

😕 Opera dev + Windows 10 Insider? Don't expect anything good...

In the other hand maybe it's time for a new profile?

@l33t4opera, you're a wizard, your tips works for videos, just not for Flash, but I don't mind. As now YouTube, DailyMotion and Facebook videos works, that's enough to me (before, only YT was working).

Thanks for the hint. After getting back to Firefox for some times, I could notice it's slower than Opera, to the point Facebook Messenger is clearly more usable on Opera than on Firefox.

                    Had no problems at all,
but, maybe it's necessary to say that I'm in W10 Anniversary update without any other update.

I've tested the video with Opera Stable and Opera Beta, in both cases VPN - Memory works fine.

(Firstly just checked with Stable version, the discussed problems are with Stable and Dev)

The mouse icon for resizing video popup seems not be in right place.
It can be checked in left, right, bottom.

                                    New update - Opera developer 45.0.2539.0 😉

                                    The change log,
                                    and the announcement.

"This developer update brings you more Reborn, and ad block improvements, as well as some security, and performance changes.

                                    Reborn project continues

In today’s version, we added a menu button, which will allow you to log out from your sidebar communicator without needing to visit the communicator’s website. You can also mute your communicator notifications from the menu.

Also, Opera now brings you a new pop-up, when adding bookmarks, which includes the “Finished” button. This option gives a clearer way of adding bookmarks for users, who missed the confirmation that a new website was already added to the bookmark folder.

For Windows 7 user we are working on a big update.

                                    Ad block anniversary improvements

Last week, Opera’s native ad block celebrated its first anniversary. Now, this feature has been given a refresh, with some new, handy options.

Opera automatically reloads a page, when toggling ad blocking on, or off for that page. It’s especially useful if you want to quickly flip the switch, and it gives you much more control and comfort while browsing with ad blocker.

Also, we have added some important changes to the block list management. Now, you have control over which block lists are loaded. Easylist, and EasyPrivacy are turned on by default.

Other lists, including regional and custom lists, can now be managed through the “Manage Lists…” dialog. Let us know, if there are any other lists, that you would find beneficial.

Apart from that, Opera now offers support for more advanced CSS selectors, which help you block more ads.

                                    Performance and security changes

H.264 video works in Windows 8.x again, and it now has the same hardware support as Windows 7 and Windows 10, both given in the last developer release (DNA-60041).

Opera adds in-form warnings for sensitive fields, when the top-level page is not HTTPS. Whenever you start filling in your password, or credit card number on a page, which is not HTTPS, the warning will appear."

                                    Known issues:

                                    – Changed configurations are not reflected instantly – a reload is needed.

                                    – Unchecking all of the lists doesn’t work as expected – turn off ad blocker, to disable any blocking.

The Chromium has been updated to version 58.0.3029.6.

                                    ☕ \m/

Some icons of Opera Developer was changed in ver.45.0.2545.0. I think this icon of private window is not good. Because I think many users can't understand what this icon means. Is this icon glasses? or binoculars?

And I'm sad to remove the Speed Dial animation when hovering mouse over the tiles. I like this animation! Because I am easy to know where mouse cursor. And this animation is fun! So, please adopt this animation again!
