<p dir="auto">"Today, we bring you the initial developer release of Opera 45. In this version we have an update for the Reborn project, introducing Whatsapp as the second messenger in the sidebar.</p>
<p dir="auto"><img src="https://www-static-blogs.operacdn.com/multi/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2017/03/animated-sidebar-whatsapp_v04.gif" alt class=" img-responsive img-markdown" /></p>
<h5>Project Reborn is progressing</h5>
<p dir="auto">Browsers need to evolve. This is why we made the future vision, that we showed with Opera Neon, and why we’re rapidly making progress with the redesigned interface, code-named Reborn.</p>
<p dir="auto">Like in <a href="https://www.opera.com/blogs/desktop/2017/01/opera-neon-concept-browser/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">Opera Neon</a>, Reborn modernizes the browser with new icons, colors, and a touch of animation.</p>
<p dir="auto">The first glimpse of the Reborn interface was released two weeks ago, and now, after such a short time, the project is ready for another refresh in the developer stream. Following all the feedback, that we received from you, some small improvements such as: colors, contrasts, readability, and space above tabs, have been added.</p>
<p dir="auto"><img src="https://www-static-blogs.operacdn.com/multi/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2017/03/Dark_Light.png" alt class=" img-responsive img-markdown" /></p>
<h5>WhatsApp joins the club</h5>
<p dir="auto">We love using <a href="http://Messenger.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">Messenger.com</a> in Opera’s new sidebar. Today, we have added support for WhatsApp (<a href="http://web.whatsapp.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">web.whatsapp.com</a>). This means you get a very easy way to use these messengers, without needing to switch tabs. Similarly for <a href="http://Messenger.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">Messenger.com</a>, you can simply log in to the service, and start chatting. We have also added a shortcut for quick access (⌘ + ⇧ + m on macOS, CTRL + SHIFT + m on Windows).</p>
<p dir="auto"><img src="https://www-static-blogs.operacdn.com/multi/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2017/03/animated-whatsapp_v02.gif" alt class=" img-responsive img-markdown" /></p>
<p dir="auto">We also plan to continue adding more messengers.</p>
<h5>Thank you for all the feedback</h5>
<p dir="auto">We are humbled about all the feedback we are getting for the Reborn, and Neon projects. Please keep it coming to help us make the browsers for the future a lot better!</p>
<p dir="auto"><strong>Other highlights</strong>:</p>
<p dir="auto">– We fixed the problem with opening speed dials and suggestions in a new window.</p>
<p dir="auto">– We lowered flash requirements to version 23, so Linux users don’t have to install the latest flash."</p>
<p dir="auto">Th <strong>Chromium</strong> has been updated to version <strong>58.0.3013.3</strong>.</p>

<p dir="auto">"Unusual for a Thursday, and unusual for the second time one week – we’ve got a developer update for you!</p>
<p dir="auto">Recently, we started to receive significantly more crashes on x86 builds. We are still trying to figure out the cause for this sudden boost of crashes. That’s why the Windows 32-bit builds will be provided (for now) without PGO optimization, in order to to help us asses, whether the optimization is to be blamed for this, or not.</p>
<p dir="auto">Besides that, there are plenty of ad blocker, and narrow sidebar fixes for you, to start testing this week.</p>

<p dir="auto">"This week starts with a fresh update to Opera 45 in our developer channel. It brings you further Reborn aesthetic improvements, an ad block redesign, and important bug fixes.</p>
<h5>Reborn with completely new icons</h5>
<p dir="auto">Our work on the Reborn project steadily continues. Recently, <a href="https://www.opera.com/blogs/desktop/2017/03/opera-45-developer-update-reborn-ad-block-improvements/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">we added a menu button</a>, which allows you to quickly log out from your sidebar messenger. Now, it’s time for a complete icon overhaul. New icons are even more refined and elegant, and some of them change colors, when active. We have carefully optimized the icons for various DPIs in order to make them look perfect.</p>
<p dir="auto"><img src="https://www-static-blogs.operacdn.com/multi/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2017/03/sidebaricons.gif" alt class=" img-responsive img-markdown" width="640" height="400" /></p>
<p dir="auto">In this update, we have removed the Speed Dial animation effect, when hovering your mouse over the tiles, and also added a new animation, when opening private mode.</p>
<p dir="auto"><img src="https://www-static-blogs.operacdn.com/multi/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2017/03/opera_private-mode-anim.gif" alt class=" img-responsive img-markdown" width="860" height="580" /></p>
<h5>Windows 7 native look and feel</h5>
<p dir="auto">This particular improvement has been one of our priorities, as many of you requested a deeper integration of the Reborn interface with Windows 7. The new interface respects Windows 7 look and feel, as we have brought back the window frame support for Aero.</p>
<p dir="auto"><img src="https://www-static-blogs.operacdn.com/multi/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2017/03/Windows_7.jpg" alt class=" img-responsive img-markdown" width="1280" height="800" /></p>
<h5>Bug fixes</h5>
<p dir="auto">Last week, we gave you <a href="https://www.opera.com/blogs/desktop/2017/03/opera-45-developer-update-reborn-ad-block-improvements/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">more control over ad block lists</a>. Now, selecting, deselecting, and adding lists to the ad blocker are working correctly and take effect immediately, as we fixed it, and other related issues from last week.</p>
<p dir="auto">Amongst this bunch of fixes, last week’s top crasher – “Crash when showing desktop notification requests” – is gone.</p>
<p dir="auto">Stay tuned for more changes!"</p>
<p dir="auto">The <strong>Chromium</strong> has been updated to version <strong>58.0.3029.19</strong>.</p>
<p dir="auto"><img src="https://forums.opera.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/emoji-one/2615.png?v=o7miklbo7rs" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-emoji-one emoji--hot_beverage" title=":coffee:" alt="☕" /> \m/ </p>

I think this icon of private window is not good. Because I think many users can't understand what this icon means. Is this icon glasses? or binoculars?</p>
<p dir="auto">And I'm sad to remove the Speed Dial animation when hovering mouse over the tiles. I like this animation! Because I am easy to know where mouse cursor. And this animation is fun! So, please adopt this animation again!</p>

<p dir="auto">"This developer update brings you more Reborn, and ad block improvements, as well as some security, and performance changes.</p>
<h5>Reborn project continues</h5>
<p dir="auto">In today’s version, we added a menu button, which will allow you to log out from your sidebar communicator without needing to visit the communicator’s website. You can also mute your communicator notifications from the menu.</p>
<p dir="auto"><img src="https://www-static-blogs.operacdn.com/multi/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2017/03/Overflow_menu_Messengers.jpg" alt class=" img-responsive img-markdown" width="1280" height="800" /></p>
<p dir="auto">Also, Opera now brings you a new pop-up, when adding bookmarks, which includes the “Finished” button. This option gives a clearer way of adding bookmarks for users, who missed the confirmation that a new website was already added to the bookmark folder.</p>
<p dir="auto"><img src="https://www-static-blogs.operacdn.com/multi/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2017/03/Bookmarks_Popup.png" alt class=" img-responsive img-markdown" width="1280" height="800" /></p>
<p dir="auto"><strong>For Windows 7 user we are working on a big update</strong>.</p>
<h5>Ad block anniversary improvements</h5>
<p dir="auto">Last week, Opera’s native ad block <a href="https://www.opera.com/blogs/desktop/2017/03/one-year-browse-faster-ad-blocking/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">celebrated its first anniversary</a>. Now, this feature has been given a refresh, with some new, handy options.</p>
<p dir="auto">Opera automatically reloads a page, when toggling ad blocking on, or off for that page. It’s especially useful if you want to quickly flip the switch, and it gives you much more control and comfort while browsing with ad blocker.</p>
<p dir="auto">Also, we have added some important changes to the block list management. Now, you have control over which block lists are loaded. Easylist, and EasyPrivacy are turned on by default.</p>
<p dir="auto"><img src="https://www-static-blogs.operacdn.com/multi/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2017/03/Ad_block_Settings.jpg" alt class=" img-responsive img-markdown" width="1280" height="800" /></p>
<p dir="auto">Other lists, including regional and custom lists, can now be managed through the “Manage Lists…” dialog. Let us know, if there are any other lists, that you would find beneficial.</p>
<p dir="auto"><img src="https://www-static-blogs.operacdn.com/multi/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2017/03/Ad_block_Lists.jpg" alt class=" img-responsive img-markdown" width="1280" height="800" /></p>
<p dir="auto">Apart from that, Opera now offers support for more advanced CSS selectors, which help you block more ads.</p>
<h5>Performance and security changes</h5>
<p dir="auto">H.264 video works in Windows 8.x again, and it now has the same hardware support as Windows 7 and Windows 10, both given in the last developer release (<strong>DNA-60041</strong>).</p>
<p dir="auto">Opera adds in-form warnings for sensitive fields, when the top-level page is not HTTPS. Whenever you start filling in your password, or credit card number on a page, which is not HTTPS, the warning will appear."</p>
<p dir="auto"><img src="https://www-static-blogs.operacdn.com/multi/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2017/03/Credit_Card_autofillok.jpg" alt class=" img-responsive img-markdown" width="1280" height="800" /></p>
<p dir="auto"><strong>Known issues</strong>:</p>
<p dir="auto">– Changed configurations are not reflected instantly – a reload is needed.</p>
<p dir="auto">– Unchecking all of the lists doesn’t work as expected – turn off ad blocker, to disable any blocking.</p>
<p dir="auto">The <strong>Chromium</strong> has been updated to version <strong>58.0.3029.6</strong>.</p>
<p dir="auto"><img src="https://forums.opera.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/emoji-one/2615.png?v=o7miklbo7rs" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-emoji-one emoji--hot_beverage" title=":coffee:" alt="☕" /> \m/ </p>
