@levelvi Goto the URL opera://settings/userInterface and disable "Snooze inactive tabs to save memory". Then, goto the URL opera://settings/batterySaver and make sure the batter saver is disabled. And, if you're using Opera GX, make sure you're not using any limiters in the GX Control sidebar panel.

Then, install https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/disable-automatic-tab-dis/dnhngfnfolbmhgealdpolmhimnoliiok. Once installed, goto the URL opera://extensions and make sure "Allow access to search page results" is enabled foe the extension. You can enable it in incognito mode too if you want.

Then, see if that stops Opera from force-reloading the page.

Looks like on macOS, clicking the red close button ends up closing the entire Opera app even if you're just trying to close one window. A more reliable shortcut is ⌥ Option + F4 (Alt+F4 on Windows/Linux) to close the current window without quitting the browser entirely. Alternatively, if you're on Windows or Linux, Ctrl + W closes the tab (and the window if it was the last tab), while Alt + F4 closes the window directly. Hope that helps!

@JustWantTo I'm experiencing the exact same problem on my Ubuntu PC. I cannot find a way to add my local printer to the Destination drop-down. Both Firefox and Brave have no such problems. Otherwise, I really like Opera, and I'd really rather not have to switch back.

It may be due to the Windows Firewall, which blocks these downloads for security reasons, that you are experiencing this problem. There are other causes as well, such as outdated browsers, conflicts with extensions, the integrated VPN or ad blocker, or a lack of permission.

Using Windows 10 here, so the OS could indeed be the reason. Although, I doubt this is the case. This issue with Opera is know for years, and none of the other browsers actually has an issue with playing videos. In that sense, it is truly a limitation of Opera...

@2lh8 Contact the service that included your site in a list of possible dangerous sites and ask them to remove your site from their list.

Also report the issue to Opera using the Report a Problem tool.

Circa 6 months I observe Opera freezing. On my older computer I attributed it to its performance. Now on a new computer I've been using for 1 month Lenovo Thinkcentre neo 70t Intel i7, 16 Gb RAM, SSD it repeats.

At the time of freezing for 10-20 sec. the CPU is not busy, the RAM has plenty of free memory.

I've tried turning off HW acceleration, but no apparent improvement.

Opera support is not responding in any way, a tutorial to debug the problem would help

@kukuruzix Synced saved passwords are encrypted using your Opera account credentials, so Opera needs the password used when those passwords were synced to decrypt them.

The same for when you set up a passphrase to encrypt all your synced data, you will need to provide the passphrase to decrypt your data.
