Thanks for the article cdeutsch. I suspected the reason login doesn't work with 1Password. I disabled 1Password and I could successfully login.

Then again, if you were using Sync before now -- with or without a password -- you clearly don't care about security/privacy anyway.

Serious, having ny passwords encrypted is enough for me. I really don't care that much if someone find out that I visit this or that page.

I have the issue at home: Opera 40 up-to-date running on OS X 10.9, failing to sign in and sync. It has been broken since July 2016 or earlier.
The opera://sync-internals page reports an unrecoverable error (BackendInitialize failure), which seems related to the Chrome engine. Maybe the local data have been corrupted in some way, however I don't know how to repair that.

Checking on <sync.opera.com/web/>, remote data are OK. At work I use Opera 40 running on Win7, and this one signs in and syncs alright.

If you have deleted your data then it's probably gone for good unless you had made a backup.

I have that same problem. Would like to eliminate a device.
How can I do it?

Sing in on your PC, click on the heart icon on your left (Bookmarks). There you will see "Other Speed Dials". Right click on the device's Speed Dial and select "remove device folder".

i did sync opera from my laptop. from desktop pc i tried to sync opera but i forgot my password, i did reset my password and login from sync, but it ask me passphrase. i did not enter passphrase when syncing. why it is asking me passphrase? i don't know passphrase. how i sync??

Opera Link has been discontinued a while ago. So if you haven't change into Sync then you should have no saved passwords in Opera Sync servers.

I had that too - click the button, it'll ask you for your old password so that it can access your old data. (They need to change that description ...)
