@kenriley001 With beta 54, the behavior is slightly different. Regardless of adblock setting, the "can't be reached" message frequently appears on the first attempt at download. Closing the tab or closing Opera, then retrying the download is successful.

It appears there is something peculiar about apkmirror. I have never been able to whitelist this site with Opera, and a Google search reveals this is a long-standing problem with some ad blockers.

@sgunhouse, @yanta I googled more about this "preinstall data2" and found out it is an adware, not a malware, and I just remembered that a year back I did block this app's notifications because it was spamming random ads on my notification bar, it all makes sense now, I'm impressed this app found a way to annoy me again 1 year later by other means, I decided to force stop it and deactivate it yesterday, opera didn't open itself ever since, I guess it's solved.

I am not looking for Opera to open link in other apps (Well maybe in case when user is currently using Opera Touch on Android and i would like to redirect him to Opera For Android but that would be minority of use-cases). In most cases my user is for example in Chrome, and i can redirect him to app store to download Opera. But after installing Opera i do not want to add instruction "Copy this link to opera search bar" which would be really bad user experience. I would like to create a link that would open my app inside of the Opera browser.
How can I find the right version for my system?

Here I thought Play would point you at a version compatible with your device. It is possible to download older versions on the download site, but I have no way of knowing which would be compatible with your device. Mind you, to use an APK from the download site of'd need to authorize non-Store installation in Android settings.

@muatronglong7 You can click "PrintScreen", then go to Paint and click Paste and it will save/show what is on your screen, then you can SAVE it to Desktop or elsewhere and simply ADD it to whatever discussion HERE you wish...

In developer options of my phone I enabled GPU profiler, and Webview seems detached from directly getting touch screen input and works very well like Opera mini is smooth.

Samsung browser has a detached from touchscreen directly like GPU profile too.

Communicating touchscreen events directly to Opera or Chrome main thread that is also the viewport seems to be culprit here.

I suggest Opera developers to try a simple overlay window that passes touch events forward to the web viewport in NDK since directly communicating with NDK is problematic. Not only for Opera but for Yandex, Chrome, Brave browsers...

Opera could do this as Opera Dev version e.g.

I turned almost into Steve Jobs. 😃

@leocg Thanks very much. Sorry I posted off-topic. I see where I was confused. I'd set my preference s to only show url bar when scrolling. But I tapped the timestamp as you described, and worked perfectly: url was exposed, then I tapped "add to speed-dial". For sake of others I've attached screenshots.
