I agree, I miss it so much from < Opera 12. However there are many things that are as great of importance for the devs to dev on.

I reckon that it's going to be at Chromium development to lay the groundwork - to which other clients can start to build better tab handling. It might be a good idea to post feedback to Chromium devs (google-groups, email, twitter, etc).

Qwant as a default search engine like in Opera Neon

Hello, i would like Qwant too. We have only choice with USA Search engine. Add new one by default must be good. (Qwant, yandex and some big Search engine around the world.)

I understand why it is blocked (for malware) but opera can work with some other search engine and purpose few not located in USA. Yandex, Qwant is not used for malware. I think the modification is not too long for the developpers. But for lot of people, add shortcut and type always "q" or "yx" is not really good.

Inside Opera Neon, there is chromium engine but not really modified for the settings part. And inside chrome we can change the default search engine.

In v49, one feature from the list have reached the stable channel. It is removed from the list. Its stats were the following:

yes even with that setting disabled. don't get me wrong cause i still choose opera over the other browsers by a mile. speed of launching is a 10th of firefox's and at least 1/2 of chromes. unlike chrome opera doesn't slow the system down after so much browsing. thanks to the sidebar easy access to history for cleaning or going back to a particular page. gmail when you add an account opens in that tab instead of opening a new one like in chrome or firefox, which means less resources used. i love the ease of use of the adblocker.

You can still hide it. Just go to Settings and enable advanced settings like before. Then you will see the option to hide start page's search box.
