honestly the reason I installed FreeBSD was because of the whole illusion Microsoft is putting foreward on linux, and because I was recommended it over x86 Arch distros like Void for it's security
which after installing it compared to Void on the machine I'm typing this message from,
yeah I can back up that it's efforts in security slightly out-match that of Arch (without systemd), but that Arch still has a much higher level of security compared to Ubuntu-based distros

being able to use linux-based workarounds in FreeBSD for me isn't an issue as long as I don't have to sacrifice much (if any) of it's security.
I don't hate Linux, I just hate bad practice and lack of care

basically, I don't mind using Arch as long as their focus puts security before usability while still maintaining both
Why can't Opera add a colour to the tab like Chrome does?

Opera's simplified interface is part of why it is actually faster than Chrome. They don't want to change that.

Do you mean open a new blank tab or do you mean open a link in a new tab? Imgur does not seem to work very well any more. I could not see your image there. Opening a link in a new tab works for me with middle-click. I can also close a tab with middle-click.

I use MacOS and the dark theme for me is definitely not good. The contrast of text and background is just as bad as it is for the light theme. I agree that it is very difficult to tell which tab is selected with the dark theme. The whole toolbar, addressbar, and tab bar interface needs overhauling. Why could they not change the text colour as well as the background?

Slimjet browser has a feature like that. It has another menu you launch from the toolbar and whatever extension buttons you do not need all the time appear on there. They are usable from there, so that frees up more room for the addresses on the toolbar but still leaves the extensions easily accessible.

To make my previous posts easier to understand, here are all the common temperature formats and which ones work/don't work (test for yourself):

21 °C or 21°C or 21° C ✅
21 C or 21C ❌
21 Celsius or 21Celsius ❌ (also other conversions don't work if you write out the full units instead of the abbreviation, like 21 kilometers per hour vs. 21 km/h)
21° ❌

It's kind of a limited feature if only one format works.

Absolutely!
The Snapshot and the Easy Setup buttons are a eyesore! Why do functions that will be used very rarely need to be permanently in my adress bar?
I will never understand these design decisions. Just give us a toogle to hide them, for god's sake.
Built-in browser translation for any selected text

Well, it's not an instantaneous translation like the feature you're suggesting would be, but the "Translator" extension on the front page of Opera's extensions site acts quite similar to what you're suggesting (https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/translator/).

If you highlight a block of text, all you have to do is click on the Translator icon in your toolbar and it will automatically paste in the text, auto-detect the language, and translate it for you. It's actually quite good. So like I mentioned, it's not instantaneous translation like you want but it's really only one quick extra step.
