Actually Opera does XP very well, it just doesn't update itself (what is actually good), even not at my request (what is bad).

I installed new Opera into another folder, fresh opera_autoupdate.exe produced same kernel error (and because this error is likely be thrown by windows before even running the code, then uninstalling won't help). Apparently they (Opera team) have either decided to break XP compatiblilty or did break it accidentally. Searching google shows similar errors with many applications, including some versions of Chrome Canary autoupdates (which were promptly fixed).

All "pre loaded" Speed Dials are paid afaik. Usually every "pre loaded" page included in a browser is paid or, at least, is a source of resources for the browser.

My suggestion was that you don't have to use Google as default search engine on desktop - though if you were searching in Youtube that's moot (Google owns Youtube and hence would know what you searched for there). Was reading an article just yesterday where MS says Google won't allow them to index Youtube to include in Bing search results.

It's very simple to stop opera site-check from accessing your private information.

Get a new browser
Get a network filter eg. Little Snitch (mac) or Antivirus eg. (AVG) or directly edit your firewall settings and add http://sitecheck2.opera.com to deny connections, that way everytime sitecheck attempts to access your browsing, privacy... It fails.

NO it's not like as easy.
if you block the fucking sitecheck domain in little snitch, opera isn't really useable anymore!!!!!!
it's unbelievable and without words......

there's really NO single browser out there (for os x), who is not overload with tons of plugin shit, animation shit, extension shit etc. plus every developer thoughts, every chimpanzees needs the option to work with their software.

if the user isn't able to understand a pc, internet and the traffic, then it's their pitch!
or why do the fuck we need a driving test???????
if not, there'll be millions of killed people on the streets EVERY day, cause the mass is dumb and will be dumb if they doesn't want to learn!!!
that's what life is for, among other things off course

Well, Chrome is not Opera and vice-versa. Each one has its own interface and they don't work the same way.

Thank you, so far I tried gregorw's advice, unfortunately as long as this is enabled, every time I start typing into URL bar Opera crashes ... it's weird that it's connected, but this it started right after I restarted after enabling it, happened every time, stopped right after I disabled it.

Will try the gustavwiz's advice, but yes, I am logged into sync.
Failed loading launcher_lib.dll. Please, reinstall Opera.

Its not just XP that it fails on, it fails on vista too. I finally tore it all out after repeated failures and threw it away. When they finally fix it, I will try it again. In the meantime, Firefox & Chrome take the day…

It is not possible, but many users want that it should be movable, for example because of the problem you have, with the dock. I really think it should be movable too.
