Internet Explorer keeps crashing, as does Chrome.

I'm thinking of setting fire to my computer.

Seems like right thing to do 🙂

Well, what I mean is that neither IE nor Chrome do crash on my PC (or on many-many other users computers) - it has to be some Windows (or even hardware/driver) problem.

What kind of crashes do you experience?

Check your zoom. What is it set at?

What are your font settings? Try to change them.

I just found out GDI font rendering has been removed from Chromium. It only renders with DirectWrite now. Bad news for all browsers that are Chromium based. It looks like I'm going back to slow Firefox. 😞

A number of sites do block proxies including VPNs. Talk to them.
Default Mail is forced to Opera Mail :(

Getting this on Opera Developer .. Not Beta .. which is a shame since I'd like to use Developer. Opened a record on Bug Tracker but nothing. Is not one else getting this on a Mac???

They are probably investigating what may be causing the problem.

It's not something that is happening with many people so it may be difficult even to reproduce the problem.

I am using the same version, it is so slow it is un-usable! Every link takes a minute or more to open. I have to go back to firefox to do anything. This problem is only recent, I think just from 39.0.2248. I am not using vpn, or private browsing.

Also, why am I asked to sign in to a proxy (us1010.something...) on this site?

New build - Opera developer 39.0.2248.0, the change log, and the announcement 😉

Here’s a fresh update of our Developer stream, available for you. It contains some improvements, and bug fixes.

Power saver mode – phase 2

Progressive timer throttling. Timers are throttling a little bit to start with, and then increased after a 10s delay. This affects background tabs, both with and without power save mode. Without power save mode, we throttle to 10s after the delay, and with power save mode to 30s.

Timers originating from cross-origin iframes, are now throttled in foreground frames. These are throttled to 1s at first, and 10s after the delay. This is mostly targeted at ads, but might affect other use cases.

As you can see in the change log, this team is not wasting time! Many changes, and bug fixes are listed there. All to improve the experience with your own, personal news.

Hi @agnimit, the VPN feature in the Opera beta is disabled by default (it's still under development), to test it out, you can enable it in opera:flags#browser-vpn (paste this into the address bar, and press Enter, select "Enabled" from the drop-down, and press the "Relaunch Now"). After that, press "Ctrl+Shift+N" to open a new private window, click on the "VPN" icon on the left of the address bar, and click "Enable" in the pop-up window 😉
