  Tons of features for Power Users ? I'm no newbie to Google Chrome Clones, I've been using SRWare Iron for years as a secondary browser, Does a hell of alot more than the New Opera does and all of the Chrome Extensions work with it as well

  @colderwinters -- uhmm, I believe you misread the last part of his post. He was referring to the Presto Opera version having "tons of features"...

  The same component (previously called M2, later just known as mail) is used to process feeds and mail. If you have no mail accounts configured, the sidebar (which will be titled Mail) should show a list of all your feeds, while the main tab (which will be named Feeds) will show a list of all your messages along with the text of the highlighted message. If you want to read only one specific feed, you can click on it in the sidebar - the name of the tab will change to the name of that feed, and only messages from that feed will be displayed.

  I understand the confusion, but the mail component is designed to work with the sidebar displayed like that. You can press F4 to hide it, but it will reappear whenever the mail (Feeds) tab is closed and then re-opened, or even if you focus a different tab and then go back to the Feeds tab.

  Yes, let's use the right terminology. Skins changed buttons and ... well, everything else. Themes (even in Opera 12) only changed the background - but themes in 12 changed the background on toolbars too while themes in Opera/Blink are backgrounds for internal pages only (speed dial, settings, etc.)

  Can't tell about Opera(Blink) 18 which I don't use but AFAIK "EasyHK32.dll" isn't part of Windows OS.

  That's for sure..

  I downloaded the library file and put it into the system32 directory. After registering the dll, it still persists. Except that, everything runs perfect.

  If you're doing that often.. Hopefully you're keeping track of what DLLs have been regged (many times it will be incompatible with the program(s) / OS; which could've, actually, been your problem there); but, more importantly, analysing the file itself - prior to executing any commands. Way too often has there been a virus, packed as a useful DLL (or as a needed one :))

  Yes and since I didn't get the closing notice (for myopera e-m) in time, that's what i've had to do; cut and paste many of my saved e-mails that I don't want want deleted, paste them to another e-m account, then fwd to self. time consuming but effective for the most part I guess. I wish I'd known sooner so I could have forwrded them using myopera, but alas, after March, myopera was closed.

  This worked perfectly! I exported my Firefox bookmarks into an html file, then imported them into Opera. It brought over the bookmarks and even the folders.

  But it had been more logical than Opera retain the compartments organization possibilities of the 11-version !!!
  I do not still understand why compartments are ARBITRARLY re-organized without taking into account wishes of the users . In brief, it pleases me not at all 😞

  Port 993 + TLS for the IMAP server and Port 465 (or 587) for the SMTP server. Use your full email address for the username. As long as the server names and your password are correct then, it should just work.

  While Opera is closed, you can edit accounts.ini in the mail folder and set Incoming Log File=path_to_text_file under the section for the account in question. Then, when you start Opera Mail, Opera will log the connection to that file. You can then see if it reveals exactly what's wrong.

  This makes me very sad. I have been considering a switch to Opera because I am sick and tired of Mozilla making random, unhelpful changes to Firefox and not listening to the community. Firefox decided to hide the "http" in an address, so we had to go in and manually turn that back on. Then they decided nobody would REALLY want to turn of javascript on a page, so they removed that option from the Options page; you have to search the about:config just to turn off javascript. Now they're doing a radical redesign of their UI so that basically if I want firefox, I'll be forced to use a mobile browser on my desktop (big, touch-friendly button menu instead of sensible, mouse-friendly menu that actually has useful options.) I thought Opera, as one of the smaller players, would be a bit more sensible about things. Now I find out a feature I consider one of the most basic and vital to a browser (an address bar) was working in version 12, but has been deliberately broken ever since and will only be fixed in version 21. You're really not making me feel good about this switch.

  That's fine, but I can shorten it if I need to after its already there on the toolbar, if I want to.

  This isn't a showstopper for me, but I don't recall any other browser doing this. I can see why someone might like this option as default, but I'd surely like a way to change it.

  So far so good. I took your advice and have installed the LastPass extension. Looks like I had already used it, as I already had an account with them, and many forum sites have their login info stored on my lastpass account.

  Its not perfect--even though it has the login info, lastpass is still waiting for me to click on a button before entering the data. However, this only has to happen once. After clicking, and then loggin in, Opera's native password manager then asks if I want it to remember the login info. Over time, I willl gradually transfer these passwords into Opera, and then I won't have to worry about this any more.

  Thanks for the recommendation. Its only 1 click per site extra, one time. After that, the passwords get automatically imported into Opera. That's a solution I can absolutely live with.
