I am running the Opera on Windows-7. The new Opera versions don't want to follow the Windows appearance settings.
The horizontal and vertical scrollbars are too narrow, and are difficult to grab. I can adjust the scrollbar widths in the Windows Appearance settings, which affects all other programs that I use, but Opera does not change.

The same probelm occurs with the window borders, for dragging to resize the window. In Opera, these borders are very narrow and difficult to grab. The Windows setting for Active Window border setting is ignored by Opera.

The title bar is also non-standard in Opera. The minimize/restore/close buttons are running off of the edge of the window, and changing the Widnows setting for Active Title Bar size affects all other programs I use except Opera.

Is there any setting or extension or any way to fix this?

Opera 34 is does not seem to remember passwords for web pages that use a pop-up window for entering the password.

For example: https://portal.adp.com/public/index.htm

I click the "USER SIGN IN" button and enter my username and password, and sign in.
The ribbon appears at the top of the Opera window asking if I want to save the password. I click save.

The next time I go to this site, Opera will not fill in my ID or password. I have to re-enter them every time.

Is there any way to fix this behavior?
The Opera 12 Wand password manager works fine with this site.

When I save a group of tabs to a speed dial folder or bookmarks folder, they get saved in the correct order.

Then if I right-click on the folder and "open all in new tabs", the tabs open in the reversed order from how they were saved.

Is there any way to fix this behavior?

I have also deleted my Speed Dials when the delete button suddenly appeared where I intended to select.
Why do buttons like this even need to be hidden part of the time?
I guess this is supposed to be a cleaner look, but it takes away from the useability when I have to go hunting for controls that are sometimes hidden.
I have the same problems with some of the controls in the new bookmarks manager and some of the settings.

I have also noticed that Opera fails to remember the print settings.

I don't know if it's the Google/Chromium influence or Opera itself, but I find many places where the new versions of Opera don't follow standard Windows program conventions.

Thanks, that pooitned me in the right direction. The "Classic Tabs" extension was causing this behavior.

What is the reasoning behind this folder structure?

When a typical Windows program is updated, the new version just replaces the old version. The new version stays in the same place, so nothing gets broken- shortcuts, firewalls, etc.

I am using Opera 30 on Windows7.
Whenever I right click on a link and select "open link in new window", a new window flashes briefly on the Windows taskbar then closes. The link then opens as a new tab in the currrent window.

Is this a bug in Opera, or is there some setting that I am missing?

I have the OPERA_AUTOUPDATE_DISABLED environment variable set to stop the automatic updates. This has been working fine for me up until now. I prefer to choose when I install any new software.
Suddenly yesterday, Opera secretly updated to version 30. Has something changed in the auto-update process? Is there a more reliable to stop this from happening?

That setting did exactly what I needed, thanks.
I did need to restart Opera, but it told me that as soon as I changed the setting.

In the password manager in Opera 26, the passwords are all hidden by default, shown as bullet characters.
If I click the button to show a hidden password, it asks me to enter my "computer password". I am on a single-user home PC, so I don't use a Windows password for my user account.
If I leave the password field blank in Opera's requestor and hit OK, it tells me the login is unsuccessful, and I can not continue.
Is this a bug in Opera's password manager, or am I missing something here?
