I did the test again, open several tabs in the same time, Opera uses a considerable amount of CPU.

What's on those pages/tabs?

I opened Opera Blog, Opera Fórum, Opera Mobile Store, Opera Addon, Gravatar, Imdb, Munkpedia, Baixaki, Opera Software Blog. I think that is all.

Apparently custom search engines and autofill data too (form autofill history + the addresses and credit card info entered manually in the settings - but not saved passwords, which are in Login Data).

Opera 23 can import passwords from Opera 12.

Start DOS box
and enter

"%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Opera\laucher.exe" --presto-master-password=MYOPERA12MASTERPASSWORD --presto-small-prefs-dir="%APPDATA%\Opera\Opera"

and Opera 23 will import the passwords.

The only way to get something like a signature above the previous message's text is to edit accounts.ini (in the mail folder) and make the signature part of the reply header. That means the signature will be text-only (no HTML) but can be several lines by using character escapes (\n for newline, etc,). The file accounts.ini is just a text file (UTF-8 encoded but without BOM, if you need to include non-ASCII characters) ... other than that matter of encoding any text editor should be able to handle it. The reply header is on a line that starts "Reply=", there is a separate header for forwarded messages, and each account will have its own headers in that file. (If you want the recipient's mail client to recognize it as a signature you should start the signature with two hyphens and a space on a line by themself, that mark is what indicates the actual end of the message text.)

The mouse gesture is simple. First enable Mouse Gestures (settings, browser, enable gestures).

Then just hold the right click button, and drag down a tad. It's amazingly simple and easy. And that instantly opens a new tab.

You can do it anywhere on the web page and it works. It's easier than having to do a double click from the tab bar, because then you have to be on the tab bar.

Yep, you're quire right, rafaelluik. Sorry. My shortcuts, control shift/or middle click on link would have made the new tab a background tab. To make it a foreground tab, you need, as rafaelluik says, ctrl+shift+left click OR shift+middle click. That will make the new tab foreground. It's just adding the "shift" to what I had.

If you prefer an easier way, Click to Tab is a Chrome extension you might well want to try, as it's supposed to open a link that you click on in a new tab, with an option to make it a background tab.

You can always uninstall it if you're unhappy with it.
