Sync does work, however it works only when it wants to not when you want to. With me, it can take anywhere from a couple minutes to hours for anything to show up on android. And the only stuff that does is my open tabs. My history very rarely syncs and when it does, it's usually stuff I've already removed from my pc history. I've given up on Opera of ever fixing this since there's practically no support from actual Opera employees and sync has been buggy since the get go.

RE: Stop modifying bookmarks bar without permissionSuggestions and feature requests
I agree. Opera devs need to stop forcing their crap "default bookmark suggestions" on their customers. Not everyone uses the net for travel, business or shopping.

Please, please, please add a manual sync button and actually fix syncing of the history!!Synchronization
I keep hoping that all of the sync bugs would get fixed with each new update, but it seems it may never happen. I've kept quiet, but I'm getting pretty tired of my desktop version 49.0.2725.34 (running on Windows 10 home 64bit) not syncing the history with my Android version (43.0.2246.121183) Everything else syncs fine (bookmarks, tabs, passwords) but not the history. It only syncs the history when it wants to and not all of my history gets synced when it does sync. Opera desperately needs a manual sync button at least on Android so we can have all our things synced properly.

Opera no longer allowing users to delete search history on all sitesOpera for Windows
I updated to 58.0.3135.47 and now I can no longer delete my search history. I don't mean the browser history, I mean the stuff you enter into a website's search box. Before the update, I would be able to delete the previous searches by clicking on to the search box and then hitting the 'X' that appeared at the end of each previous search entry. Now that X is totally gone from most pages and I am no longer able to delete those previous searches unleess I use an extension!
However, if I disable the extension whatever I it deleted is still listed when I click on the site's search box! How am I supposed to get rid of previous searches without having to probably delete all the data stored on Opera?! I'm not going to reset Opera again, since the last time I did, all my extensions got deleted even tho' it said that that wouldn't happen. Give us back our right to delete whatever we want from the search history on ALL sites!!!

RE: Delete history for specific websitesOpera for Windows
I use the V7 History extension to delete multiple entries for specific sites. It's much better than searching through Opera's history and deleting them one by one.

RE: Sidebar only on Speed Dial pageOpera for Mac
I quite agree. It's yet another pain in the rear that the devs decided to force on their users. Opera used to be one of the best browsers out there, then China had to go and ruin it when they took over.
So now i have to add the bookmarks and extensions pages like I did with the tabs page (for when Tabs aren't syncing) to my Speed Dial so I can get to them quickly without having to constantly switch the damned sidebar off and on or right click on Speed Dial. I liked it much better when the sidebar stayed put on the Speed Dial only. Now, it's either no sidebar or permanent.

RE: Unwanted speed dial entries - againOpera for computers
@deestonic I quite agree. Opera has gone down the sewer drain with all the problems I've been having with it 1)Sync working only when it feels like, 2) Connecting pages slowly or not at all due to Windows 10 Creators Update and now 3) Sync screwing flash up to a point where I need an addon to have flash working even though it is installed and should work.

Opera 53 has added unhideable greyed out extensions to toolbarOpera for Windows
Updated to Opera 53.0.2907.37 today and now I have greyed out extensions on my toolbar that have been hidden before and now I can't hide them again since these are extension that have no options to hide them. The only way I can hide them is if I enable more extensions. This just adds a double arrow that I DO NOT want. It's bad enough I can't get rid of the annoying Instant Search pop up everytime I open Opera for the first time after an update, now I have to deal with ugly greyed out extensions that have no business being on my toolbar when they were NEVER there to begin with before Opera 53. Opera just keeps on getting worse and worse everytime there's an update.

RE: Sync and all the "joys" around it...Opera for Windows
I ran into the "something went wrong" message a couple days ago. I absolutely DID NOT sign out or reset sync. I also noticed that I was signed out on my android version of Opera (which is vers. 43 -- I refuse to update it because I despise the newer ui) I DID NOT sign out on there either! I was able to sign back in after restarting Opera, but it's obvious that I can no longer trust sync to keep me logged in. With each new update, Opera becomes more and more of a steaming pile of crap!

Disappointed with Opera 44 for AndroidOpera for Android
Once again, Opera devs have messed up what used to be a great alternative to Firefox. Not only does it still not block ads on some sites, it now has a microscopic speed dial and there is no way to make it legible! I need my larger easy to read speed dial back; my eyes are bad as they are already, I don't need to make them worse with this crappy update!

RE: [Solved]Being bombarded with 'We've noticed a new sign in' emailsOpera account
Disregard this post. I found the notification setting for that in my profile. However, I'm not too happy about having to totally disable that since now I'll never be notified about any sign ins that could potentially be from someone other than me.

[Solved]Being bombarded with 'We've noticed a new sign in' emailsOpera account
I had recently accidentally factory reset my tablet and had to restore my copy of Opera browser on that tablet. I also had to reset my sync data yet again due to the reinstallaiton of Opera Android caused my copy of Opera on Windows 10 to create a duplicate Speed Dial entry for my tablet. This has turned out to be a major hassle since I am now constantly being bombarded with emails from Opera notifying me of a new sign in Every Single Time I signed in to both browsers and even to Opera sync and the Opera forums! It's annoying. The windows version of Opera I am using has been installed on the same machine I had since my hard drive replacement and has never been totally 100% uninstalled then reinstalled. I only downgraded it back to Opera 58 due to my dislike of the latest update a few months ago. I understand that factory resetting an android device might cause these emails to be generated when I signed back in, but why would they be generated for a PC version of Opera that has never been factory reset?! Is there a way I can stop these emails from spamming my inbox without changing my email address or password?

RE: Disbled autoupdates but still getting nagged to update!!Opera for Windows
@temkem Tried your suggestion of adding disable-background-networking to my desktop shortcut and so far Opera hasn't nagged me to update. Not too happy about losing the ability to update extensions, but it's a small price to pay to stop Opera's harrassing me to update.
@leocg I had already deleted all files named auto update. I have been doing that for a while now. I never rename them, just delete them. Also I could find no temp folders for Opera.

Disbled autoupdates but still getting nagged to update!!Opera for Windows
I rolled back to version 58.0.3135.132 because I got tired of constantly having to switch the sidebar off and on when I needed it also I did not like the way Opera 62 screwed with the Speed Dial (there was a huge blank space above my speed dials).
I deleted every entry marked autoupdate or update in every Opera folder I could find plus deleting Opera from Task Scheduler. However, I still get the notification to update Opera at the top of the main Opera menu. The only way I can get rid of it is if I click on Update & Recovery in the menu, but it's only temporary since it just pops right back up if I open Opera again. It's annoying and I DO NOT want to update Opera at all!! Is there any way at all I can stop Opera from nagging me to update every time I open it?

RE: Sync tabs icon missing on sidebarOpera for Windows
@panosv I wish I knew myself what's going on with sync. It's been such a hassle trying to get anything sync at all these days. I don't think it was an intentional change on the devs' part, but a bug within the system that no one seems to care enough about to fix.
-
RE: Sync tabs icon missing on sidebarOpera for Windows
@panosv Have you tried signing out and signing back in, because the sync icon now disappears if you're already signed in when you start Opera. Signing out and signing back in makes it come back and stay for as long as you keep Opera up, then it'll disappear again when you close Opera. In my opinion, sync has been broken for a long time now and the devs have no real intenion of ever fixing it. I had to reset my data for the umpteenth time recently because it mysteriously removed my tablet (and no, I did not do it myself). As I keep telling ppl here, sync does whatever it wants when it wants. It's a miracle if ANYTHING gets synced at all.

RE: Bulk delete of history itemsSuggestions and feature requests
@idontknowaname476 Until then, I suggest you use the V7 history extension. I've been using it for a while now and I can't imagine being without it.

RE: No notifications from youtube.Opera for Windows
I think the problem may be with Youtube itself and not Opera. I do have a few subscriptions and I don't always get notified for new subscription videos from YT's app.

RE: Re-import bookmarks from Firefox.Opera for Windows
@browzer1 Any bookmarks imported should be added to Opera under the Imported from Firefox folder that gets created; this includes the ones you mentioned that are not on Opera. If you have bookmarks that are the same on BOTH Firefox and Opera, then yes you will have duplicates that will have to be deleted manually. You will not lose any bookmarks on Opera by importing so it's safe to import your Firefox bookmarks.

RE: Opera Sync still not workingSynchronization
@mopw69 Any data on your devices will NOT be deleted when you reset sync. Only the data on Opera's servers gets deleted. You will then be syncing whatever is left on your pc and any other devices back on to Opera's servers.
