You mean old Opera Presto (version 12 or so)? It can't import any of your current settings and IIRC won't update to newer version either.
But you may have some problems with it. I'm using Opera 10 sometimes, for speed and some other things - it doesn't support some newer cryptography (certifcates), its javascript is sometimes very slow or simply doesn't work, its rendering can be erroneus ets; maybe Opera 12 is better in this regard.
Next version (Opera 15?) was already Chromium based and is IMO not worth to install.

Old Opera was discontinued at 12.18. Opera then abandoned it and started a new browser from scratch that's based on Chromium. I forget the first Chromium-based Opera version that we got to test (it could have been 18 or something), but the oldest one on Opera's servers is 36. The old Opera never switched to using the Chromium back end and the new Opera never used the old front end. They're totally different.

@fckopera Create a copy of the whole Opera's profile directory, it's the best thing to do.

By the way, saved passwords will only work if you install Opera in the same computer and with the same user.
