A lot of people are complaining in here that bookmark bar takes away screen real estate which could be used to display web pages instead.
Did you think about adding an advanced setting for auto-hiding it as soon as you move your mouse below it?

Showing it as soon as you move your mouse back up as high as address bar wouldn't considerably enlarge necessary mouse movements.
It would look tidied up and wouldn't steal any space this way...

@kevvv: 4.2.2 is live and fixes the issue. Sorry for the trouble. I've been developing this extension for more than 10 years now. Mistakes happen every now and then...

I find the idea ridiculous that some claim their "work" is hampered because they cannot stack tabs. Evidently they have dozens
and dozens of tabs open at one time and therefore need to stack them. Seriously? How on earth did you function back in the
90's when there were no tabs at all? And when tabs first appeared the ability to stack them was not present. How did you
manage then?

What kind of argument is that? In the 90's we also managed with 16 MB or RAM, 14-inch CRT monitors, MS-DOS and 56 Kbps connections. That doesn't mean we want to go back to that.

I second that. People managed to live without dishwashers and washing machines... electricity... fire.
Does that mean that they're unnecessary to you? ^^

@maximkoshevoi Unfortunately it's not. I've spent countless hours trying to find any hack / circumvention / whatever. It's simply impossible by design. As soon as an API becomes available you can bet on me adding it though.

Please, everybody star this issue to draw devs attention to it and get it finally fixed for good.

To make it shut up immediately:

1. open modern scroll's options page
2. open a browser console there
3. execute
   chrome.storage.sync.get({last_dialog_time: 0, dialogs_shown: {}}, s => { s.dialogs_shown[Date.now()] = "#hello_again"; chrome.storage.sync.set(s);});

I'm simply using Windows Explorer, which is perfectly capable of FTP.
There are other helpful applications like Swish that enables you to also use SFTP right in Windows Explorer.

Windows Explorer is not working with FTPS (FTP and SSL/TLS).

Sometimes it's necessary or helpful to start Opera with a command line parameter.
This is how you do it (Windows):

1. right-click the shortcut you normally start Opera with
   (1b right-click the Opera beta/developer entry if your shortcut is sitting at the taskbar)
2. choose "Properties"
3. In the Target-field add --name_of_the_switch=its_value behind the last "

You can have a look at Chromium's command line switches. A lot of them will work in Opera, too.

@sajithn yes. Simply click the background bars below or above the main bar.

We all love experimenting, but sometimes flags may bite (as stated in Opera).
If they do, that's how you recover:

1. start Opera with --no-experiments command line parameter
   (for those of you who don't know how to do that have a look here)
2. go to opera:flags and reset them or try finding the culprit manually

@bloort: You're very welcome. Please be aware, though, that Opera isn't updating the extension anymore. Neither 4.2.5 nor 4.2.6 has been published to date (4.2.4 only after manual intervention). So you will probably miss out on future updates. Better use the Chrome Web Store instead.

@max1c: I installed Opera 106 and modern scroll 4.2.6. It just works. ‍️ I'm sorry, but without any hints as to what exactly might be different on your machine, I can't really help.
Another trouble-shooting step would be doing a clean (portable) install of Opera and checking whether the issue is the same there, too. If not, it might be related to some (potentially sync'd) setting(s).
