@jaym12 So you are saying that you can open all those sites with any browser except Opera? At least they work just fine to me.
You can try disabling the ad blocking, or a private window, or a portable installation of Opera to test without any relation to your current installation/profile.

RE: Opera Browser Not Loading Web Pages Properly on WindowsOpera for Windows
@kimkorton Were you able to solve it?
My Opera started having this ugly behavior a few weeks ago. A few times every couple of hours, when clicking something in a web page, it just keeps loading forever, or perhaps the home page itself never finishes loading at all.
Sometimes stopping and reloading the page works, sometimes a new tab does, and sometimes an incognito window does.
At first I thought it was my ISP, but then I tried other browsers and they work just fine.
Unfortunately it's not easy to replicate: it's like if at some point Opera just gets tired and doesn't want to load anything for several seconds.
I disabled the very few extensions I have but the problem remains. Is anyone else experiencing this?

RE: The High CPU/RAM/GPU Usage Topic - Opera for DesktopsOpera for computers
This started maybe an hour ago. I noticed one of the opera.exe processes was using 25% of the CPU (4 cores), so I closed probably "heavy" pages, but nothing changed. Opened Opera's task manager, and only thing using the CPU is the browser itself with 100%. So I close Opera and that single opera.exe process remains in memory, still consuming 25%.
I cannot open Opera again without killing that exe first. Every time I open the browser that process uses 25% and stays until I kill it. I disabled all extensions, closed all pages from my session and this is still happening. If I kill the process with Opera open, everything is shut down.
It's the most current version (74.0.3911.203), which has been running for some days now, so it's pretty strange. This is on Windows 7 x64 by the way.
I checked some other topics, I tried disabling the Cashback flag, but that didn't help.
For the record, I've been an Opera user for many many years and I don't recall this happening in the past. Thanks!!

RE: Youtube-Downloader addons all useless now?Opera add-ons
I have never used any of those extensions, I find them totally unnecessary.
Just add "pp" after youtube in the url and it will take you to y2mate, one of the many sites that lets you download the video. For example,
www.youtubepp.com/watch?v=<video_id>

I guess he's referring to those huge white icons...

RE: Latest Opera Update breaks essential (Ctrl+Shift+Home/End) Windows shortcutsOpera for computers
Thank you, burnout426! I edited the Preferences file and removed the whole
commands
section, and that solved the issue. Although I see that someone else also recommends just changing all these shortcuts toglobal: false

RE: Youtube-Downloader addons all useless now?Opera add-ons
@cratte Well, to be honest, extensions can also stop working just as any site (especially if they use a web site's services), and y2mate has been working for many years. And even if it does end at some point, it's just a matter of looking for an alternative only once. I still prefer to only have extensions that are really necessary.

RE: Flashing Black ScreenOpera for Windows
And any other browser works just fine with the same pages? It looks like an issue with the graphics card driver. If other browsers work ok, you can try downloading Opera Portable and check if the issue occurs there.

RE: [Solved]HIstory date is incorrectOpera for computers
I cannot begin to fathom how this severe issue hasn't been solved in years... Only the day cutoff was fixed (e.g. day changing at 9pm), but not the 1 day off.

RE: Speed dial is the same across tabsOpera for Windows
Great, that did the trick. Thanks! For some reason I didn't think this configuration could be among the experimental flags. I wonder if this setting is temporary and in the future it will be impossible to undo this...

RE: dont load inactive tabsSuggestions and feature requests
I totally agree. Having this middle ground setting of loading some pages at the discretion of the browser is not useful to me. It has all the drawbacks minato just mentioned above. I'd rather have the old classic behavior. It's not like loading a page takes that long and I'm not willing to wait 2 seconds if I go to a yet-not-loaded tab. But I do dislike having the browser use a lot of resources each time I open it. That makes me use another browser if I need to just quickly check an url.
Furthermore, each time all these background pages are reloaded, their all come up in the history list, like if I really visited them right now, which was never my intention. It's like corrupting the browser's history, making pages be in the wrong date.

RE: [Solved]HIstory date is incorrectOpera for computers
Well, I just upgraded to 69.0.3686.57 and something was fixed... Now the day changes at midnight, but there's still something wrong: now it's one day off! For example, urls from today, Monday 13th, appear as "Today Sunday 12". I hope version 70 fixes this completely...
At least now it's a bit easier to know which day each history entry belongs to.

Speed dial is the same across tabsOpera for Windows
Now the Speed Dial seems to be the exact same instance across different tabs. If you open two tabs, and on the second one you scroll down and open a folder, if you then go to the previous tab (untouched Speed Dial), you will see the exact same thing. It will even make you think you didn't change the tab at all.
Furthermore, in this scenario, if you open a link from that Speed Dial open folder and close any other tabs with a Speed Dial, when you open a new tab, the Speed Dial will load just as it was before: scrolled-down and with a folder open. For those who are developers, this looks like a singleton.
This has started happening recently. -
RE: [Solved]HIstory date is incorrectOpera for computers
@leocg said in HIstory date is incorrect:
From Opera Beta 70 changelog:
DNA-79195 Wrong date on history
No luck, version 70 still has the same error as version 69. That is, date cutoff is fine, but it says "Today - <yesterday's weekday> <yesterday's date>"
And for "Yesterday", it's the day before. So the words "today" and "yesterday" are fine, but the dates are all wrong. -
RE: White screen 'flashbang' when opening pagesOpera for Windows
Weird. I was only able to reproduce something similar by enabling the sidebar menu (as per @andrew84's comment) and clicking alternatively on Speed Dial and Extensions. Otherwise, it doesn't seem to happen. I have dark background pages in my Speed Dial, which also has a dark background, but no flashing happens.

RE: [Solved]HIstory date is incorrectOpera for computers
I always use the full page History, as I don't use the lateral bar.
Anyway, I just tried it and the issue is pretty much the same. With the lateral history I get "today" with no date (fine so far), then "yesterday" with no date, but then comes "Monday 27", instead of "Tuesday 28" (it's Thursday already here). -
RE: White screen 'flashbang' when opening pagesOpera for Windows
I added the pages you mentioned to the speed dial, and this is how it behaves here with a just-installed portable GX:

RE: [Solved]HIstory date is incorrectOpera for computers
After a quick check, it seems the history alone seems right, I will confirm after a few days to be sure.
But there's still an issue with the date range. By default the date pickers show you today, but it seems the timezone bug is still there, as today is greyed out. As I'm in UTC -3 (the day change in history used to happen at 9pm), I think this happens because the calendar enables up to 9pm from the previous day.
If I go to Februrary and pick from 24th to 26th, it selects 23rd to 25th in the calendar (the dates are right at the top though).
I will also need some days to further test this, as I cannot select March 1st to test the date range filtering.

RE: Opera Won't OpenOpera for Windows
@ljfried said in Opera Won't Open:
@jquartana I know that I look like a total jerk but I don't see any "instructions in search bar" when I copied and pasted and...do you copy and paste all three things (Install, Profile, Cache) or just Cache?
You have to copy the profile path, open Windows Explorer (which you use to browse folders, or when you open the "Documents" icon, for example), paste the path in the address bar above, and then you can delete those files (if you don't mind losing such data). You can try renaming them to see if that works. Remember Opera must be closed before doing this.
