@andrew84: Hello! The information in the article also covers Chromium version 140. As mentioned in the article, the team will continue working on this for as long as it is technically reasonable for us to do so.

It was kinda normal to expect that you will end the MV2 support at one point, since it's very costly to repatch every Chromium version back with MV2, even Brave said that they will try to do it as long as they can.

However, at the same time, you need to improve your adblocker a lot. Include the uBO lists, they are open source, do it like how Brave does, even Vivaldi said they will start to add their support as well. uBO's miss then won't be felt since its basically built in into the browser indirectly.

Please, also, try to add better support for uBO's filters in the Opera Mobile app, or even let us install addons.

A great reason to keep using Opera. Thank you!

@Opera-Security hi, Will Opera be for the ad blocker of the Android version? It would be great to add the filter lists we want.

@erdinc53 I believe it will be supported as long as Chromium will allow doing this 'officially' (using open workarounds). When all the workarounds will be blocked by chromium, it'll mean the end of support. Hard to believe they'll spend efforts (taking into account the AI and Themes hype) to modify or implement extra code to extend the support. Just my thoughts.

@andrew84 I think Opera will do like Brave and will support as much as possible. It's a matter of getting more users.

It would be great for all the chromium derivatives to join forces to spread the load and support MV2 indefinitely.
                  MV3 is really-really too limiting.

@opera-security: I have to switch from Chrome. But it unclear if "support of MV2" mean inability to install MV2 opensource available extension while "support of MV2" is claimed. Look suspicious and false claim. Express in words, please.

Thanks! Just moved from Chrome to Opera due MV2 support is working (not uBO user, there are a lot of MV2 extensions that helpful, working, but will not be updated to V3 anyway). Pretty cool browser overall 👍

Well, hopefully they'll offer better support for uBO filters.
