Meet Opera Neon, the new AI agentic browser

Today, Opera Neon is making a comeback but not as a concept browser.
I think reusing the Neon name will cause some initial confusion between the old, one-time, experimental Neon and this new one. But, I guess since it's a cool name, maybe it'll be worth it.

@burnout426 Definitely so. But what I‘m wondering about is: Is all this AI stuff generally and in Opera here to stay with benefit for us or will it wither away as one of the most overhyped trends in digital history?
Maybe this also decides whether Neon II will also be remembered as „a concept browser“ from the post or if it really is a thing.
More than the naming it seems to me, is Opera going all in with AI a very bold move. -

@burnout426 I think that ' Opera One Air Crypto Neon ' name would sound cool.

@andrew84 Yeah, that's a really cool name for a browser
You could also name it CANOO as in:
Crypto
Air
Neon
Opera
One
Wouldn't that be great? -

Is Neon intended to make extensions obsolete or, if extensions will still be useful in some ways, will the Agent be able to help with say suggesting an extension that might meet some need that it identifies in the user's workflow and help find the best one or show a simple breakdown of a list of comparable extensions the user is looking for in order to make the best decision?

Kicking myself now for forgettng the most obvious follow up question to that, or perhaps it should have been the first question. Will Neon Agentic be able to create custom extensions/addons based on user prompts, assuming there isnt already a more tested and polished one available?
