i just recently got opera and i love everything about it except for the fact that Every Time i close it, it logs me out of Everything! i'm talking google, spotify, even my literal opera account gets logged out. (side note- the discord thing on the side stays logged in for some reason but thats the only one...?)
i've tried looking for a solution everywhere, i changed my cookie settings, i've messed with the vpn, checked out my account settings and nope, nada, nothing. it's really infuriating and i'm about to just delete it and switch back to google chrome
also, the passwords just, put simply, do not work.
i tried adding the file containing all of my passowords, i tried syncing from google, and i've tried just using the built in apple password tracker and None of them work. and a lot of my passwords are just a random selection of numbers, letters, and signs, thanks to the "strong password creator" thing that macs have baked in.someone please help me before i go insane

I switched from Chrome to Opera yesterday because I was amazed by the GPT implementation and all the features offered or improved by Opera (like switching fonts, the sidebar and "My Flow" which is supposed to be doing a better job than chrome). So I went through the whole process of tweaking settings and making everything comfortable for my work flow.
I use Nordpass for logins so it was a quick process to get all my accounts logged in to Opera and I thought with making an Opera account and enabling cookies this would all be saved.
Today I booted my Mac and launched Opera and I was logged out out of all my connected google accounts. Made me a bit mad already, but then I saw I wasn't logged in to my opera account. Did that, got the same "synchronisation" setting thing pop up again and not even that was saved from yesterday.
So I had to sign in to every page again. Tried fixing it with settings, checked if I had done anything wrong. But all fine, just like in Chrome.
This is a complete dealbreaker for me. Chrome will stay my main browser and I will only use Opera for research purposes until this is fixed. You need to get this right with at least being logged in to the opera account. I know some people don't like it, because of privacy issues or anything, but give me the option to choose. Especially on google sites. I have 6 different accounts to manage and I'm not going to sign in with all of them everyday.

@burnout426 said in [Solved]Opera is not saving data (or it's being removed):
Test this solution. Remove the Opera Safe Store password from Keychain Access login item.
Steps:
Open Keychain Access application
Choose 'login' keychain on left
Choose 'Password' group
Find 'Opera Safe Storage' entry, right click it and choose Delete.
Success! Unreal!
This has been open on so many threads for sooooooo damn long and finally something works. My keychain had like 3 instances of the Opera Safe Storage on there recreated from each install. Unreal. Thanks man this is incredible. -

I just wanted to ask if someone has a solution for the problem being, every time I close opera it just resets everything, including passwords and the login to opera. I have tried multiple times to activate password sync and it just keeps crashing the website, and ive tried pretty much everything I can imagine but i dont know what to do. I am on Opera for IMac btw.

Thank you so, so much. I've been at it (and it took reading down the page this far to get to the solution) for a while now. So much relief! Thank you. This works 100% on MacOS Ventura 13.3.1 (22E261). [Deleting the Opera Safe Store in Keychain Access]. You saved my life (I don't like Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Vivaldi, Bing, etc.).
Again, Thank You!!! -

Ok, so i use opera Gx both at work (Mac) and at home (Windows) and everytime i come to the office everything is logged out, and even some settings get reseted, but that doesn´t happen with my personal pc, so i believe it´s specifically a problem with Mac. Either way they really ought to fix this, because is really time consuming to have to enter all my accounts manually.

@andreabug It sure is time consuming, far too much wasted time. Even knowing the above fix is not a great solution, since it requires us having to delete these files over & over again, as they keep popping up in Activity Monitor, which also means we have to once again, enter all our passwords, manually. I wonder why Opera doesn't just fix this already....
