Opera 93 Missing Search/Copy/Snapshot Popup Over Text

Is it just me, or is the normal wonderful popup that appears when you roll the cursor over text that says "Search/Copy/Snapshot." I Hope this is not the case because this was a great addition when it was added many iterations ago. I hope this is just either a glitch or a switch that can be enabled...Please.

I find it works on Some web sites and not others, for instance Amazon pages do not seem to allow the popup - here on This site, it works as advertised

@bbildman yep. dont work for me too.
but i think its just a bug, cuz in settings "popup menu" set in active.
but my advice for now - use this extension.

lemme know if u find way out to bring back Opera popup.

@bbildman Have seen the problem occasionally and just use the right-click menu to select the <search>-<search with>-<copy> function I wish to use. More versatile.

I created an additional search url to be used for map searches using the <search with> function. i.e. Search engines-Site search-Add

:Search engine: gmaps
:Shortcut: m
:URL with %s in place of query: https://www.google.com/maps/search/?q=%s

snapshot still works with the <ctl><shft><5>

I should have read more threads, because I just started (and deleted) a thread about this very problem. I use a portable version. The last version of Opera that actually worked reliably was version 90.0.4480.54. I guess I'll stick with that until they finally get the new one working again. I won't hold my breath though.

I can confirm here too in 93.

But in 95 Developer seems to be working fine.

It was fixed in 94 version yet

Just got the same problem, right after installing v93.0.4585.21. Really annoying.

After updating to 93, I have the same problem. However, the ONLY site that the popup over text feature works is imdb.com, I do hope they can fix it.

Please check something out. It does not work on IMDB's main pages (actors, movies), but if you go to a subpage (trivia, release dates) that still have the older design, it does!

it works now on Opera windows 93.0.4585.21, but the observation is that It doesn't work at:

x yahoo news homepage

One thing interesting is that for yahoo news, the pop-up saerch/copy menu appeared first, but no longer showed up after a while the page was loaded.

I run Opera 93.0.4585.21 on Win10 64bit. I noticed several web pages where Search pop-up menu is not appear at all. And I give you few examples, to try it on your own:

https://ziare.com

Just select a text there, and you'll see the search pop-up doesn't appear.

93.0.4585.21 on Win11. This and unit/currency converter are totally gone. This is one of the most useful functions of Opera. Please fix this. I don't want to use a 3rd party extension for this

@pyll0 Did you mean the "Enable the search pop-up when selecting text" setting? Yes it's already enabled.
