Backing up and Sync

Hey all,
Just did a Windows clean-install and even after backing up the Profile folder as instructed in some conversations I found here, I loaded that up and only my bookmarks seemed to load.
Not the tabs I left open, not the extensions I had installed or settings.
I can start from scratch, thankfully I did do a separate bookmark export, but I was wondering about loging into the Opera browser with an Opera account. I see my bookmarks are there, but is the point of that Only to sync between devices and not to load into a fresh browser install?
I think that functionality would be great, not to have to back up anything, but just sign in and maybe select what you want to sync from the cloud into this new browser.
But anyways, what's the best way in 2022 to back up Opera browser so that everything but cookies and history is in there?

@jssuarez Backup the profile folder and login to Sync, that way you should have almost all of your data available in the new installation although maybe not automatically.

@leocg thanks for the info.
Yes, that's what I do but doesn't the profile folder include other things like cookies and other info? it usually is a very heavy folder to backup and I just want to save/export a few things, not absolutely everything.
It would be great if Opera would let you export just what you select, or like I was saying make the cloud sync work also with a new installation of Opera, removing the need to manually backup the profile or anything. Just have sync save what you want and then reload it in a new installation of Opera upon login in
