Just to the point..
I've read old topic about this (2019)...
It happen again, but not such as terrible as 15 secs, only 3-7 secs
Hope it would solved in next update... -

I have the same issue as well on 2 different computers (not the same opera account if that matters.)
It's has got so bad, I'm considering moving over to Brave. I've had no reply or acknowledgement on the ticket I created as well.

@blackwidow They don't usually reply to bug reports, sorry. The fix just shows up in the new version one day. Having said that, the test version (aka Developer build) seems to have gotten better recently, so it is in the works.

@sgunhouse We are in October now and the problem is still there.
A few weeks ago I completely uninstalled Opera (deleted every file) and reinstalled it. For a week or two the speed dial was there instantly, but then it started to slow down again. It now takes 6 seconds and every few days or so it adds another second.
Will this ever be fixed? -

Hi everyone,
I have exactly the same problem.
This problem has been around for a very long time.
For me, the waiting time between launching the browser and loading the speed dial page is up to 10 seconds.
This is very annoying. I would understand if my computer was slow but I have 32GB RAM and an I9 processor.
Clearing history or cookies does not help.
Clearing all browser data helps temporarily, i.e. completely deleting the profile folder, but in a few days the problem returns again.
But I won't do this every week. I have to reconfigure everything after cleaning.
I have no idea what is causing this problem. -

@stingear @teshia @blackwidow @goodness4411 I just fixed mine by deleting the browsing history (just the first tickbox in clear data, you can keep the rest) - Opera Menu, history, clear browsing data, select only the first box (browsing history) and untick the rest. Thanks to @burnout426
