How to configure plug-in path?

The instructions for installation and configuration plugins at http://www.opera.com/docs/plugins/installation/ include the following:
"In some cases, you may need to configure Opera so that it can find the plug-in. To do this, add the directory containing the plug-in to the plug-in path. From the Opera menu, select Settings > Preferences > Advanced > Content, click Plug-in options, then Change path."
It looks as though these instructions don't work for the current version of Opera. Does Opera still allow one to set the plug-in path? If so, how does one do this?

Hm. I'm currently running Opera version 24.0.1558.61; the browser claims that this is the latest stable version. Is Opera Blink a Beta version?

Opera Blink is just a generic term for the versions of Opera since version 15, which are based on the Blink engine, which is a branch of Chromium.
