Speed Dial is Not Showing

@estevamprada Rather drastic. Personally I just opened a website (I typed it, but a bookmarked site should work too) and did what I'd normally do there (read a news summary that sounded interesting). When I went Back a couple of minutes later everything was fine.
My guess is it's something to do with Sync, maybe server maintenance or some such, and should be fine in a few hours.

Came to the forums to post about this! Speed Dials isn't showing up for me, as well. It's simply a blank page with the wallpaper. Is this a Sync issue? Has Opera said something about it? Any idea how to fix it?

Hello!
I use Opera for ten years and I love it. But there were problems yesterday.
When I opened it, didn't see any ordinary tiles. Stopped it and opened again. Same thing. And I observed, that when Opera is closed, it use 50% of my CPU.
Tried refresh, then reinstall, then uninstall and fresh reinstall, restart of computer, etc. same thing.
And sometimes it doesn't want to open at all .
Today I experimented and at the first time no tiles again, but I wrote my search words to the headline and it works, but high CPU usage continues to exist. A little bit later tiles are back and high CPU ceased, and I can use it, but with small bugs: stuttering, decelerations, sometimes CPU high, sometimes not.
I'm on Win7 x64. Fresh system. SSD.
What's the problem?
Thanks in advance, -

This helped. The pause before they load the first time is much better. Still noticing a slight lag, but liveable.
Thanks!

@kuhlkees Check the Speed Dial folder, it may have moved your tiles to another location further down the folder tree and Opera is having trouble locating them or not finding them at all.
Happened to me when I was updating my extensions and installing some live wallpaper, the Speed Dial folder reset itself and emptied out all my tiles and relocated them to my imported / other bookmarks folder. I had to manually move my tiles back into the Speed Dial folder for it to start working normally again.

It keeps happening even in Opera 82 and I cannot be deleting history every time. What is the permanent solution to this bug?

This is an old post but I had the same problem recently with Opera GX. If anyone is still facing a similar situation I fixed this by Resetting the browser. Go into settings, and scroll down the page. Click on Advanced and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Click on "Restore settings to their original results".

this is for 2023, i figured out all you have to do to get it back is to go to settings, scroll all the way down and click on advanced. scroll down more, and check off 'hide speed dial' if it is on. if it's off, idk try resetting the browser or something
