So having used the app, I'm really enjoying it, though I do have some gripes
Something small, but When right clicking a bookmarked tab, the first thing you see on top is to open the tab. I feel that this is redundant. "Why do I need to right click to open when I could just click the link itself?" It's also inconsistent when you right click a link which allows you to open in a new tab the moment you see the right click menu. It took me some getting used to but I have no idea why this is an option
(Image of the right click menu when opening a bookmark)
(Image of the right click menu on any other link)There's also the huge problem with viewing discord streams. It's constantly stuck loading. And I know it's not my internet connection because It's alright on any other browser and on the discord app.
(why is the stream not loading REEEEEE) -

So 1 week ago, I decided to move from Chrome to use Opera GX because of it's UI and the built-in messengers and discord and the custom backgrounds, I really like it now but they can improve by adding like light mode.

Please, mods, where to get a Full changelog of Opera GX? (like the one for standard Opera)
The short summary at https://forums.opera.com/topic/33033/opera-gx-update-released/1 is not sufficient for me.
Thanks in advance. -

Ticktock integration possibly?
Just like the discord and Instagram integration -

@realbadusername Opera had TikTok in sidebar, but it was removed at some point.

The Opera GX changelog page should list also Chromium versions, along with Opera GX versions.

@leocg Resource prioritization. Using a fairly low end device and it's annoying a background tab I'm not paying too much attention to is hogging most of the resources from another site I'm watching.
Would love for a feature to let you limit the resources available for each tab.

So, based on the thread title you should probably be able to tell that this won't be the most... positive, post. After all, most people who come to post on forums don't do so to spread love and gratitude in the first place. That being said, I really do like the browser though. I recently switched from Chrome, which I'd been using since the fall of AOL.
That's a joke.
Point is, I'd been using it a while as my main browser for a while. I've tried Opera before but I opted to test out GX this time around. I game a lot and in the future I might dabble with streaming, so I figured GX would give me more bang for my figurative buck. And boy does it! This browser is loaded with features, which brings me to the issue at hand. Disclaimer: Rant incoming, there may be profanity. Expect the "F" word to be used liberally. Unless these forums are run by EA and it changes such language to plums
Why do you refuse to allow for any type of "home" button?
Now I know what some of you may be thinking. "Hold on there sonny Jim, I dunno how you do from where you came from, but around these here parts we've got 'Speed Dial'! Accessible quick and easily from your trusty side bar!"
Cool. Speed Dial is great. The side bar is too. Have no problems with either. However, Speed Dial on the side bar is Not a home button. What's the difference? As presently constructed, if I'm wrong please do correct me, Speed Dial will Always open up in a new tab. That's nice and all, if I want to open a new tab. But what if I want to go to my Speed Dial quickly using my current tab?
Can't do it.
GX has like 200 fing setting but I can't get the Speed Dial to act as a home button? It doesn't even have to be mandatory, it could be optional! 300 settings and this isn't one? Worse yet, it's redundant as f but not in a good way. I can achieve the same results by using "CTRL + t" or clicking the "+" icon to open a new tab, both of which take me to the Speed Dial on a new page. But there is no way to go to the Speed Dial, which I'd use as a home page, while staying in the tab one is currently browsing in.
Why?
You might be like "So what. Why does it matter? Just open a new page". To which I'd have to answer, because I don't f* want to. I don't want to have to open a new page just to go "home". I don't want to end up having 20 tabs open because this process just keeps repeating itself. I get that there is a simple work around, but every time I have to close a window, then click speed dial to open a new window, takes time and causes frustration. More importantly, how is the browser going to have 400 f*ing options to tweak in the setting but this isn't one? I mean damn, the regular Opera browser has this functionality! What the hell are you trying to say about gamers, Opera?
Alright, I'm done. Rant over. Thanks for your time.

@leocg I'd like to have the option to customize discord sounds to higher or lower volume. Being able to separate out tabs/apps volumes would be pretty awesome.

On the surface Opera GX looks and sounds like a cool alternative to whatever you're using now but in reality it falls very short if you're more then just an average PC user.
1.Search bar suggestions still persist even with the appropriate setting disabled or with history deleted!
2.The built in ad block automatically has things like google as an exception but even with them removed you still get a glimpse at the ad before it covers it up client side, very sleazy move.
3.Some of my bookmarks like youtube simply don't have a logo?!
4.Lack of customizability to the bookmark/extension/search bar at the top. In firefox you can drag and drop pretty much anything.
5.Disabling the side bar leaves you with "menu" next to the opera logo making it look cluttered.
Overall rating: 3/10, nothing more then eye candy with some features for people who don't fully understand how you use a PC fully. If forced I would rather use Edge than this.

I'm here to express my disappointment with this browser which, however, had greatly attracted me for what it proposes and seeks to represent.
I like some of the functions offered by this browser, although the options are a bit too gimmicky and useless, such as certain notification sounds and the useless gimmicky animation at the launch of the browser, but I do like GX Control, or at least the idea of it, and also GX Cornoer, which is my favourite, but here is an experience that makes this browser rather disappointing.
Indeed, when I'm in front of twitch and see youtube (I did not check for the latter) the consumption of the latter is really high and extremely unstable, while yet, we are supposed to be able to regulate the CPU / RAM consumption and frankly from my experience, it does not change much, while on Opera classic consumption is much less greedy and unstable than Opera GX, so I remain quite confused in understanding to know where to find the advantage supposedly "for the good of gamers" with this browser?

@leocg Small thing but when a tab is muted, the volume symbol on it doesn't show it is muted.

The navigation through the "Bookmarks" is a little frustrating because the link icons are too big or too small and what really annoys you is the thing of just one-click on a link and it opens in another tab, without you being able to choose to select it and drag to organize.

First Impression Post:
Love Darkmode on everything,
Love Free VPn
Love Max CPU Usage
Love Discord/Twitch integrationUnchangable New Tab = Uninstall. I found out in forums that this is an intentional design, which is unfortunate given the benefits this browser has over others. Especially on business CPUs. I would love to be contacted if this changes so I can switch to your product on all my home and work CPUs.
Thank You.

Maybe I just need to scrap Opera and use a browser I'm confident is secure.
Sometimes short and sweet is best, eh?
I'll give sharing my concerns and suggestions a try:I've used the GX version of the Opera browser for a few years now as my default browser. There are some things that annoy me about it I'd like to remove from it or disable.
-
The sidebar. I don't use it, I don't want to see it. I don't want to have to close it constantly and go through several steps to hide it. Please include a right-click menu option to hide it that when we select "hide" it hides immediately with no other required steps.
-
Crapware integration (facebook, twitter, instagram, discord (especially!), etc). I don't want this garbage anywhere near my computer or any of my networks. I don't want any chance of any of my browsing history or traffic or anything associated with or going to these sites.
These sites are not a convenience to me they're an invasive security risk and annoyance. Please provide a way to completely disable and get rid of these sites and everything pertaining to them.
"Just don't click on them. All they do is open the site. If you don't login they're not doing anything. Just ignore them."
They don't need to be present if they're not doing anything, Let us get rid of them if we choose to. Completely remove, not just disable and still have laying in the background. Gone! -
The GX browser's cache is screwy. Please look in to it. I design websites. Even if I hit the refresh buttons both GX and the default version of Opera do not update my changes. I have to go to settings and delete cache, close it and restart it to get changes I've made to appear. All other browsers I use to test my work with refresh and display the changes I make immediately upon pressing the refresh icon or the F5 key. I have an auto-refresh extension for some of them that refreshes whenever there's a change.
I haven't touched browser settings. I wouldn't ever go in to the settings at all if I didn't have to to clear cache to get pages to update. I use default settings on all of the browsers I use so I know what the majority of general (and computer illiterate) users experience with the web sites and apps I create.
Opera is losing a long-term fan and supporter.
